It is probably the RF switch. Try getting a coax adapter. I think AtariAge sells them for only a couple bucks. Otherwise you can put together a makeshift one with parts from your local hardware store, like I did.

Though my woody had very similar problems when I got it and none of my cartridges worked on it. I opened it up and it was super corroded. Someone spilled Coke or some other dark pop in there many years ago. There was a high-pitched sound on the black screen as well. I scrubbed away at the board with baking soda, alcohol and vinegar for a long time to get all the gunk off. It took a while, but it paid off and my woody works now. That's probably why my dad's cousin had that other Atari 2600, a vader model.

Could you Intellivison perhaps have some corrosion on it?

    Possibly?

Seems unlikely, though. That thing is CLEAN, at least on the outside. I think it was barely ever used, as evidenced by still having the original box and everything.

  2. So, I got a box of 11 INTV games in a lot off Ebay that arrived in the mail yesterday, bringing my collection total back up to 23 games.

Five of the games had no label, so I pulled out my boxed INTV to check the mystery carts out.

I only have an NES RF switch available currently, so I used that to connect the INTV to my HDTV.

Anyway, long story short, not a single one of 23 game carts would display a picture. All I got was a very nice, clear black screen on channel 4, and nothing but static on channel 3.

Is an NES RF switch just not compatible, or is it possible my INTV is busted?

I don't have a 3DS.  Looking at videos of the game, it looks cool.  I have the Flintstones BurgerTime game, though.  🙂  I like that this Deluxe game gets colorized on the GBC and GBA.

    Seconding.

Definitely get a 3DS. The system is on its way out, prices are dropping, games are plentiful, and this is probably the best time ever to start collecting for it.

    It's my favorite Nintendo handheld.

That was very nice of them @LeeJ07 ☺️ We have very generous Members here. If you can remember who sent you this nice Atari 2600 Jr. setup and games please let us know so they can be acknowledged for their kindness :nintendo_mario_1up:

I'll take a look at the thread I posted last year about the fire. It was one of the commenters there that sent the 2600 Jr. and games.

That is a nice setup you have, Lee.  Very nice.  It's been about a year since that happened but it looks like your collection is coming along nicely.  I have a Wii and have thought about upgrading to a Wii U a time or two.  I've also thought about adding a PS3 to the mix.  Those are the only 2 consoles I'm after and then I'm done collecting hardware.  After that it would be only about the games.  Unfortunately I would have to order them of the internet for the most part because we lost our GameStop.  We have no other local used game store.  I've thought about starting one but I don't want to have to sacrifice my collection.

Definitely get a Wii U. It's a genuinely great console.

That's nice. I'll always prefer the Vader though 🙂

I got my first two 2600s a few months ago. They were both broken, but luckily I was able to fix them. They came from my Dad's cousin who was getting rid of them. They came with a bunch of cool stuff, like a ton of games (mostly CIB & mint), comics, catalogs, and this cool ET poster. I have been emulating the games on my wii for nearly a decade, however.

I had a bunch of Atari catalogues and manuals before the fire. All destroyed.

Yea, the Famicom, while basically an NES, actually uses a slightly different Power Supply than we do here in the USA.  That original power supply is only rated for 100 volts.  American standard power outlets provide 120 Volts.  You'll fry the adapter and the Famicom if you try using that.

Power Supplies that will work with your Famicom are model 1 Genesis adapters.  I've even heard of some using a power supply from a Sega Master System.  So if you have any adapters that can power those then you could use those on that Famicom.  I'm jealous.  Nice Famicom!  I've been after one for years now.  Very nice.  Got any games for it?

Yeah, I picked up a separate lot of 10 Famicom games for it that haven't arrived yet.

The picture on the listing shows two Dragon Quest games and what looks like Wizardry, among others.

all power supplies have and INPUT voltage rating and an OUTPUT voltage rating

can you post a clear pic of the power supply you have with this info ?

This is what it came with. Looks like the original adapter.

I was reading online and it said that a regular Sega Genesis Model 1 power adapter can be used instead, without having to purchase a step-down transformer thingy, so that may be what I'll do instead, since I'm too hesitant to use this adapter.
