  1. A version of Rampage that doesn't get a lot of mentions is Activision's 1989 port on the 7800.

It's surprisingly good and has everything you would want from a Rampage game. That said, George, Lizzie and Ralph do look a bit like the Muppet Babies.😅🤣😂🦎🙈🐺Screenshot_20220626-115118_Instagram~2.jpg

I think Rampage for the A7800 plays even better than the NES version. At least, it's truer-looking to the arcade with no added intermissions. The NES version has a chart of how much damage is done to the United States, while the arcade version doesn't have that. That is why i think the A7800 looks closer in that respect, plus the sprites do like the Muppet Babies. But that doesn't detract much from the game, at least to me.

Atari were great at making the levels in arcade copies close proximities to the arcade counterparts in most games. That is why I like Atari games so much. Thanks for letting me share. :O)

There is a hack KevinMos3 is making to make A7800 Rampage more arcade-accurate. I am sure you have heard about that. :O)

  2. More rocking & rolling with BPM Boy! If you have a VCS you owe it to yourself to grab this game.

Thanks, @RickR! We're trying to get a few short trips in before the baby.

I've never been here before and it's absolutely stunning.

It's pretty wild, especially when you see some of those strata oriented diagonally -- some major cataclysm from the past.

If you ever get the chance, go to Zion.  Of all the national parks I've been to, that one was the most spectacular IMO.

  9. A new Recharged Squad Challenge is up at ClubVCS! This one really ROCKS!

Awesome! Looking forward to see what you think of it @Justin! It's one of my favorites implementations of the Classic. The rotary works great!

This was a fun read.  Thanks for sharing.

I've been horrible at finding time to play with my VCS.  Too much real life taking up time.  But I will try!  Gravitar and Missile Command are on my list to purchase.

      You're welcome @RickR ! It was a fun read!

Gravitar and Missile Command are both great games but Gravitar gives you more depth and gameplay.

If you like rolling platformers, I'd also keep an eye on BPM Boy!  It's a timed exclusive to the VCS from one of the devs behind the "Strike" series.

  12. Been waiting for this one for a while!Screenshot_20220521-080555_Instagram~2.jpg

  13. Playing around with ideas for Series 2 Recharged Squad Challenge buttons.

  14. Just released to the VCS store: Catty & Batty!

A short and charming indie title for fans of games like Lemmings. Discuss at ClubVCS:

  15. For some inexplicable reason I woke up with that old Great White song Once Bitten, Twice Shy in my head. Some random MTV/FM radio childhood memory hidden in the recesses of my mind.

It's a horribly dated song and one that I've never liked. But it was everywhere at the time. It's strange how these things randomly surface.

  17. The ClubVCS Black Widow: Recharged Squad Challenge up now!  If you're curious about this game, check out my attempt. Personally, it's one of my favorites but it's probably the hardest in the series.

  18. Arcade Attack interview with former Atari producer Joe "F***ing" Cain.

A great candid conversation about his experiences during the last days of Atari Corporation under the Tramiels.

  19. Announcement trailer and key art for Gravitar: Recharged!
