  1. PSA: It looks like Gamestop is getting out of the VCS business. The All-In Onyx Edition is cut to $99.

That's an AMD Ryzen mini-PC with 2 controllers for $99.  Even if you were going to tinker or use it as an emulation station, it's a heck of a deal.

Also @RickR, I recommend watching this setup video by @Mockduck.

The first updates can take a while since there have been so many changes in the last year. Tip: Do not interrupt the update.

These are now sold out! Did anyone here besides Rick snag one at this price?

Thanks for that video.  I need all the help I can get.

  2. Is anyone else constantly bombarded with Evony: The King's Return ads on YouTube or other social?

I have tried flagging these as "irrelevant" but they persist. I don't generally play mobile games and this one looks horrible. I will never play it no matter how many ads they buy.

I have not seen that one.  Ad blockers help, if that's an option for you.

  3. NEWSFLASH: Atari terminates it's relationship with ICICB, ends current iteration of Atari Token and revokes licenses on hotels and casinos.

Basically, they continue to de-Chesnais the brand by undoing a lot of his deals and refocusing their energies on gaming. Although, they will be creating an internally managed token.

Good. Glad to see "Atari" is out of the centralized shitcoin biz.

  4. Some insight into Atari's strategy with the XP line and their recent acquisition of MobyGames.

  5. PSA: VCS Onyx Base Unit is on sale at gamestop for $149. Controllers are $29ea. The All-In Onyx is still $399.

This is the best deal we've seen so far on the VCS.

The new controllers are already sold out.  I wonder how long the Onyx Base system will last at this price?

      "You snooze, you lose".

I actually decided "no" upon sleeping on it.  I'm in such a downsizing mode right now, it just didn't feel like the right thing for me.  Please keep us all informed if they come back in stock though, as I may change my mind.  It was a close decision!

Hopefully, you get a bunch more new club members with the new purchasers.

  6. Check out this excellent edition of the Atari Weekly Podcast with @BHG_Gaming . This week he interviewed the team behind Atari's new IP Kombinera!

  7. PSA: It looks like MicroCenter is down to their last Atari VCS in Fairfax, VA at $249 for the All-In Edition bundle.

Many folks have been successful in getting Best Buy to price match using the online portal. That opportunity will close once MicroCenter is sold out. Regular price is $399 for that bundle.

Next up is Centipede: Recharged up now through April 30th at ClubVCS!

      CONGRATULATIONS @Joe 🙌🕹️🔥

  10. Atari formally sever their last remaining entanglements with former-CEO Fred Chesnais.  The shift in direction since his departure has been positive.  Hoping this is another step in a positive direction.

  11. Happy Atari Day everyone!

I celebrated by doing a quick side-by-side raw video capture comparison of Tempest 4000 on the VCS vs. PS4 Pro.  There is no commentary here.  Just Minter's psychedelic brand of arcade tunnel shooter!

The VCS version is nearly identical although I do notice the leading edge of each web seems slightly smaller at times.

  13. A giant update to the new Atari VCS dropped today. Check out the details at ClubVCS!

  14. Got the rest of my patches for the back of my Recharged battle jacket. Not committed to placement yet...

    Also, sewing....

Thanks Justin! You all are getting the WIP photos. I imagine I'll make more progress when the next games in the series are announced. They are supposed to be updates of console games!

  15. Black Widow & Centipede Recharged are 100 percent free in the Epic Game Store. A great way to try out Atari's revamped titles for free!

  16. BHG of the Atari Weekly Podcast invited me on to talk (nervously) about atari.io and ClubVCS!

  17. Our first Recharged Squad Challenge & Contest is live at Club VCS!  How long can you survive the onslaught to achieve the high score?

Play for your chance to win your choice of a VCS Modern Controller or VCS Classic Joystick!

MORE SUBWOOFER.  It reminds me of the old THX intro to movies.

Best Buy matching, eh?  I'll have to check that out.  $250?

Thanks @Justin !   Doing what I can to get the word out and make it fun! 👍

  18. I can confirm from experience that Best Buy will Price Match $249 offered by MicroCenter on an All-In Black Walnut edition Atari VCS with free shipping or store pickup.

Process takes about 15 minutes using their chat. So if you don't have a MicroCenter in the area, you can still get this steal of a deal!

  19. PSA: MicroCenter has in-store only sales on the Atari VCS All-In for $250. It's only available locally so if you live near a store and its in stock, now might be a good time! Unfortunately, our only Southern CA location is sold out.

Apparently Best Buy will price match!

  20. A year or so ago I came up with the idea of a gaming battle jacket. (If you grew up in punk and metal, you know what this is.) I was struggling with a theme until Atari's new Recharged series.

Here are the first pieces coming together! Recharged buttons and a Missile Command Recharged back patch!

Now to sew on this ginormous patch!

That's a Flashback Friday photo for sure @Justin!

      Atari.io OG rocker patches anyone?

    3. RickR

      RickR

I've got a project lined up to create some kind of wall-mounted frame for my Activision patches.  But I probably need to spend some time at a crafts store to find the right kind of frame.  If I do, having another one with all the atari.io pins in would also be really cool!

    4. Justin

      Justin

So you guys know, I plan on doing more runs of new Atari I/O pins in the future. I still have prints for the originals. The only reason we stopped was because I moved away from having access to a button press and inexpensive mailing through my old company. The idea was do to a different set every season and send them out to our most active members as a "thank you" for being at Atari I/O

  21. Here's quick video montage celebrating Atari's Breakout!

Which version of Breakout was your favorite?

    1. Justin

      Justin

Super Breakout on the 2600! Or Warlords if that counts.

    2. Sabertooth

      Sabertooth

I stuck to Breakout titles for the video but its hard not to count Warlords, Off the Wall and Arkanoid! Crazy Brix for the 7800 is also amazing!

  22. I grew up in Ohio and have lived in L.A. County for almost 20 years. I'm good with whomever wins. For me, this is mostly darn good excuse to top off this mug!

    Happy Super Bowl LVI!

  23. Popped into a vintage shop today and saw a few fun things. A Six Million Dollar Man board game, a WWF glass set, an Andre the Giant glass beer mug.

There was also a Lynx II behind glass but couldn't get a clean photo or price.

I picked something up but will post that in pickups.

Love this kind of stuff in the wild.
