This one is kind of unique -- a port of a Commodore 16 game!  How many times have you seen that?  Zero.

A demo is  here, and the download link is in the description on youtube.

I just discovered a short, eight episode mini documentary series on Youtube called 8 Bit Legacy: The Curious History of Video Games, and I just had to share it with you guys. The episodes are all pretty short, usually 6 to 8 minutes, tops, but they are packed with fascinating tidbits of trivia and boasting production values that would make most Youtubers green with envy. In fact, the series was even Emmy nominated.
Stand out bits include interviews with both Nolan Bushnell and Shigeru Miyamoto.
    Definitely check this one out.

So a friend of mine calls me yesterday and says in the process of moving he found all his old games. He had 3 snes, 1 NES, 1 Sega Genesis, and 1 PS1 and games for all systems. He asked if i was interested i said yes. We settled on a price and here i am. 3 very yellow snes systems.

I found a few videos on this cream that seems to work very well and i think im gonna go hunt it down and give it a try. Before i do this does anyome have a better method of cleaning yellow systems?

Atari 5200 Guy got a reaction from MaximumRD in Sabrent Video Audio Capture Device Help
    Hi Everyone!

I recently picked up a Sabrent USB 2.0 Video and Audio capture device.  It looks similar to the EasyCap USB device (dongle thing with wires coming out of both ends).  But I have a few issues with it.  I've tried testing it with every console I had and discovered not all is going as planned.  My issues are listed below in case anyone here might have a few suggestions to try.

Issue #1 - Works with about 50% of the consoles I own.  PSOne is OK for boot up screens but loses all signals once the game tries to load.  Doesn't work with Atari, TI, NES, Sega Master System, Sega Genesis.  Works OK with Dreamcast, N64, GameCube, Wii, XBOX, 360, PS2.  I even tried patching signals through a hi-fi VCR to see if that helped any but same results.  Video signal is almost like having a vertical scrolling issue with b/w images.

Issue #2 - Video recording file size.  What consoles it does work with I've used to test recording and editing features of the included software.  It records to AVI automatically but a 10 minute video takes up between 9 and 10 GB of hard drive space.  Is this normal?  There are other options (WMV, MPEG, and one other I can't remember).  I'm not sure if it is compressing the files or not.  Any suggestions here where I can cut the file size down?

The device was picked up as a way to capture better quality game play screens for use in YouTube video projects I'm working on for my channel.  I've had one computer fail on me (which has been the reason why my videos have been delayed) and am stuck with a smaller laptop with only 75 GB of hard drive space.  I removed anything that wasn't needed (after backing up of course) and uninstalled any large apps I didn't use often just to have space to use this device.

If anyone has any experience using any kind of capturing device like this and might know of some pointers or tips I would appreciate the shared information.

Well, I did a test run and uploaded the results on YouTube for all to see (oh DEAR!).  I managed to play with the settings more, using MPEG-2, and now get over 11 hours of video footage.

Since I don't have an Intellivision, and games for it, I am just going to donate mine. Paying it forward so to speak. Besides, I need the space for any future SMS games I plan to get. I'm also seriously considering parting with the TI and VIS collection for the same reasons RickR has mentioned...I don't use them and really have no history with them. They are cool but just not my cup of tea. And as much as I like the 32" TV I have it has been nothing but a burden. It is on a floor with machines connected to it. Great picture, awesome sound, but I can't find a stand to support its weight. I found another 20" that would be more manageable. Going to try to simply do a trade on the TVs.

I agree...it is crazy just how much those flashbacks are going for. I wonder if the same thing will happen with the coins McDonald's is giving out to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Big Mac?

I'm also about to sell off the more rare games from my Intellivision collection.  Don't know if anyone here would be interested.  But if so, contact me.  My prices will be pricecharting minus 20%

I was just about to list mine.  I don't use it, I'd rather play the real Intellivision.  Was going to start the bidding at $50.

Not a gaming device...and not exactly modern...but found something I needed today.

Philips/Magnavox switch box for multiple devices. Has RF in and out, too! Came in original box with new RF cable and a male to male coax adapter for joining two coax cables together. 2002 model. Looks brand new. $5.

Automatically turns on when it detects a signal on any device. First box I've seen/had that has to be plugged in to an AC outlet. Most others I've seen, including the RCA one I have on another TV don't need power at all.

I was on the hunt today for any SNES controllers but no luck. However, my hunt was not a total loss as I found these:

I'm in the middle of cleaning the cases up which is why Midway Arcade Treasures looks like it does. The other game was a pack-in with XBOX consoles containing Project Gotham Racing 2 (a relative of Dreamcast's Metropolis Street Racing) and an Arcade disc.

What doesn't make much sense to me is the Arcade disc. I thought those had full games on them. This one only has demos. I can't find a single full game on it. You would think with it being a pack-in that there would be at least one full game on it but so far I haven't found any. It does have demos for some PopCap games including Bejeweled, Zuma, Astro Pop, and a few others plus some games that might have been exclusives to the XBOX LIVE ARCADE. Not sure on that so don't quote me.

    Well...looks like I'm first.

I have to admit that I prefer the 2600 version over the arcade. I never was fond of the trakball controls of the arcade. I liked it on Missile Command and Centipede/Millipede but not on Crystal Castles.

Played on real hardware of course.

I think by the time you ship both ways to someone and pay for their time, you are better off just buying another one.  The other suggestion is to find someone local to you that can fix it without shipping.

For a broken back-light, you end  up replacing the entire screen in my experience.
