I keep getting "template out of date" errors.  Mostly when attempting to view the YouTube section and trying to start a new topic in there since my old channel no longer exists.

I copied the error message I keep getting.

"[[Template core/front/global/globalTemplate is throwing an error. This theme may be out of date. Run the support tool in the AdminCP to restore the default theme.]]"

I get that, too. Just keep refreshing the browser, and it should go through eventually.

One small thing:  The "edit" and "delete" options on forum posts are gone.

Yes, and that has been tripping me up a little bit! But there are now some dots at the top of the screen you can click to edit and delete, so no biggie.

You got it @DegasElite. I want to make sure people understand this is a community, we're all here for the conversation. In the context of starting a thread to promote a Member's YouTube videos or Podcast, we encourage that! We have forums here set up for that very reason, we encourage our Members to create their very own dedicated thread and share their new videos and Podcasts to it in series. If a Member has a website, a new project or game they want to promote, we encourage that too! It needs to be conversational though. Atari I/O is not the place to post a teaser with a link elsewhere, or only show up to promote your own wares. It's got to be conversational.

Here's an I/O ProTip: Think of the Forums as a holiday party. You've been invited over, there are Snacks and hors d'oeuvres being served, everybody is in the spirit of things and having a great time. You walk up to everyone and say "Here's 10 Reasons Why Atari 5200 Sucked Hard" and give a link to your video. That's clickbait-y and hucksterish. Instead, when creating a new thread, be sure to start a real conversation. It's great to share links to your stuff! We encourage that! We support everybody who helps make sure this hobby continues on. But you have to include substantive content in your new topics, not just clickbait links or sales pitches.

Redirect only stuff should be limited to status updates and the like. To me, this is a bit misleading and only clogs up the forums.

I am playing Atari Mania and my children are trying to help me figure out the rules for each mini-game.

I'm playing VCTR-SCTR and Neo-Breakout on Atari 50 (VCS). The Digital Eclipse folks really "get" the original games and recapture their spirit in the reimagined versions. They are hard to put down and well worth the price of entry.

I'd be curious to see whether you receive a flurry of submissions today.

You're welcome @DegasElite! It's something I really love that I wanted to share with friends in the forums who might be a little more security or encryption-minded. It's exciting to find something that offers a free "Base" tier and have it be truly useful. I've been using ProtonMail for the past few years and have been very happy with it. I've used it for banking, etc. (This isn't a paid promotion of course, but it was something I wanted to share here!)

It's been Discord for me, though I'm fortunate to have had more positive experiences on that app (largely because the Discord I've joined are all video-game related as well as moderated).

I chat with a few select folks pretty regularly in Discord or Twitter. It's nothing like in the old Yahoo or AIM days though.

It ain't nothing like the old "Wednesday Night Chat" days.  🍕

To quote my favorite teacher, "Jaguar! Jaguar! Jaguar!"

Tempest 2000 would be an obvious choice. Other good options for an HSC would be Zero 5, Missile Command 3D, Defender 2000 and Raiden. 

I'd also love to see a Saturn challenge. 

@atarilbc I had a Jaguar Squad Challenge scheduled for December! Unfortunately I had to put everything on hold. Knowing you're on board for a Jaguar challenge, I'll be sure to reach out to you in advance along with a few other Jag owners in here to make sure we have people to participate and make it fun!

I think we'll do 8K Pac-Man next year for our next National Pac-Man Day, it will be a nice way to remember Nukey Shay and a heck of a lot of fun ☺️
