Looking at the back, I guess that means it is HDMI only? I don't have one so I'm not sure. Missing the physical switches will affect some games like Phil said. I guess it will work with a Harmony cart, that is good news. The price point is incredible. As long as they don't find a SNES inside later on, this should be a great thing for the community. Except for cart prices going up.

I've had a CIB for years that I've obviously not touched: opened a factory-sealed version for this occasion.
Dude, hair dryer.

I'll have to get an HDTV first. I guess they're catching on.

Ep 331: Spike's Peak
I loved this game, but it can be infuriating.

Nope, it's the 24th. The Colecovision model number is 2400.

This is ringing some faint bells for me, believe it or not. Despite my better judgment, I included the words "red tube" in a search, but only came up with the Pente game, which is decidedly not electronic. There were some other results that I won't go into here.

Ugh, I am so bad at this. I didn't realize this post was stickied, thanks to Justin (?) for doing that, I am honored!
Some recent highlights:
I talked with Mike Montana, son of Glib programmer Rich Montana, for the Glib episode. It was great talking with him, and I found out he works in the same town in which I grew up! Small world.

I also spoke with Joe Grand, who created the wonderful homebrew game SCSIside. He has done so many cool things that we talked about on the show. I had a great time talking with him as well.

I am currently running a contest to win an Atari 2600 Jr. with a bunch of games. If you'd like to enter, you can listen to this short episode to find out how.

Finally, I am taking a bit of a break from regular 2600 episodes. I am burnt out, and doing the podcast is more work than fun. I want to talk about other things to get me back to a good place with the 2600 stuff, so I have started what I'm calling Bonus Tracks, which will be sporadic episodes about random non-2600 stuff. I posted the first one today, which is about when I was a paperboy in the 80s.

Yay Bill! He also does a great Peanuts podcast, which you can find here: http://charliebrownpodcast.libsyn.com/
And he wrote a book! https://www.amazon.com/In-St-Nick-Time-ebook/dp/B0092902GW/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1347218210&sr=8-2&keywords=in+the+st.+nick+of+time

If you have an ancient TV with a horizontal hold, you should be able to adjust it to play PAL games. My parents still had a TV like this when I started collecting in the 90s. I found a PAL game and brought it over there to test it out (I read about it on Usenet) and it worked.

I do enjoy Math Gran Prix, although I think it's more strategy based than math based. Maybe for an adult, the math problems are easier now than perhaps they would have been when I was 12.

I think people on this thread will be interested in this. Atari Adventure was ported to C++ and I've modified it (blasphemy, I know) to be an internet-based, multiplayer game. You can see the concept in this promo video.
If anyone is interested, I desperately need some beta testers.
Sign me the hell up for this!

I always enjoyed his work. He just did a great interview on the WTF podcast maybe two weeks ago.
Rest in Peace Bill Paxton.

Man, I love stuff like this. Thanks Rob! Is it okay to share this on my Facebook page?

Too bad we'll probably never hear his parody of "Live and Let Die", "Chicken Pot Pie".
Paul said no to that one because he's a vegetarian (or vegan).
I was lucky enough to hear it when he opened for the Monkees in 1987.

I have one with the keyboard, but I've never been able to get it to work. Maybe Willie can help me...

"just released"???????
I've had an MP3 of this song since 7/11/14, I downloaded it from Dr. Demento Basement tapes #4. I never knew it wasn't released (or just out there)!!
It's OK....not my fav Pac-Man song of course, but it's on my MP3 player.
Officially, it will be on the rarities disc of his career-spanning box set coming out soon. He posted a video of it on Vevo.
I think I got my copy from Napster.

I like the KayBee stickers because you can tell the year they got to the store. I have one or two from 1985 I believe.

Got both of my NES Zelda games and the Nelsonic watch at Caldor. We didn't have one in the Atari days.
