I'm looking for feedback for the next episode of the Atari 7800 Homebrew Podcast (you can find it on iTunes, Stitcher, Google Play, or use this feed: http://feeds.feedburner.com/homebrew78 )

What are your thoughts on Frenzy on the 7800? Feel free to share your memories of the arcade games Berzerk and Frenzy, too, as this title is an arcade conversion and includes both games.

This game will be covered on Episode 4.

You can also e-mail text or audio to homebrew78 -at- fab4it -dot- com

Deadline is, kinda-sorta, 11:59pm CST on Thursday, February 9. Any comments from after then will be addressed in a later episode.

So... there's a skier and a motorbike in the artwork of Speedway II.  As a kid, I had NO CLUE that the player was supposed to be a skier in the Slalom game options (7-12).  Likewise, you're supposedly using a motorbike in the Number Cruncher game options (21-24).

Having the manual might have helped...

I think Street Racer's gonna run away with this one!

Thanks!  Ha yeah the long beam up sometimes doesn't work out too well for the beasties either - lost several that way

Yep.  You read that right.  I never knew this was even possible. This ROCKS!

Familiar with Steve Vai's work as one of his songs can be heard in the original Playstation racing game Formula 1.  Don't confuse it with the later release of the same name.  Same song can be heard in PS2's GT4.

Steve is one of the best.   I still remember him being the devil's guitarist in Crossroads.  (Macchio not Spears)

Hey guys, been awhile since I posted here - I've missed a couple of good games

I got 5,533 after several attempts.  Man, game 4 is HARD.  I made it past the lasers only once, and could not make it back after.  My strategy is to wait until the guns reach their highest point, then leave the saucer just as they start moving down.  Then I try to go left or right only (don't move any further down) and try to snag a beastie in the tractor beam ASAP.  It takes awhile to get it from that height, but if I work quick I can manage to get one and return to the saucer before the guns rise back up to the top.  I can only get one beastie per wave doing this, though.

My favorite "must own" titles are easily Berzerk, Qix, and Pac-Man (which blew my mind as a kid with a 2600!) Centipede and Missile  Command are must haves if you have a trakball!

I've gotten about 600 points better on average, which is still less than 2000. I switched to real hardware, which is the way to go for me for this game. No idea if the 2600-daptor has lag, and maybe it's only noticeable in games like this. I did manage to rescue one squiggle on the 2nd screen ONCE, but that was all. I was using the 500 XJ, which doesn't do diagonal well, which I need to try out in those screens.

Ughhhh...1633. This challenge made me hate Cosmic Ark even more. I didn't think that was possible!

FWIW, my score improved when I started shooting twice at a time during the asteroid screen.

I played this game a lot as a kid, so maybe the nostalgia helps me enjoy it more. To each their own I guess. I never liked Food Fight for the 7800 but everyone else seems to love it. I should ad that I NEVER played this difficulty level growing up or my feelings might not be the same!!
