A view of my attic, where most of my stuff is kept.  This is shelf #1 of 2.  Someday, I'd like to be able to keep this stuff out for use, but no room at the present time.

Here we go.  From Rowsdower.  Three handheld games (have I mentioned I'm a sucker for these?)  And the cool hat.  And a game I haven't opened yet.

Armor Battle needed a clean.  Works great!  Did I mention the Mattel handhelds are my favorites?  Missing the battery cover, but RickR does not care.  A working game = smiling RickR.

Pac Man 2 - needed some cleaning, and the controls didn't quite work.  Repaired that with some soapy water and electrical contact cleaner.  It's actually a lot of fun with an elaborate maze.  For the two game, player 2 controls the ghosts!  How cool is that?  I'll tell you what, playing the 2 player game with only 1 player == the easiest time clearing the maze I've ever had!  Take that "Blinky" -- if that's even your real name.

Dracula - needed the power switch cleaned up, but works great now.  It was hard to take apart because it needed a special screwdriver.  Found the right one if my magical toolbox.  Once you take it apart...there were springs and even a ball bearing to carefully keep track of inside.  This game is totally cool. It has multi-color graphics and some really nice sound.  Rowsdower says it has more than one screen...but it's so dang difficult, I can't get by the first screen!  And check out the "magnified" screen.  It must have the evil power of Dracula...because my camera can't focus on it.  It's really just a piece of clear film kind of bent into a parabola shape.  But cool.  Very cool.  The battery cover is cracked.  Rowsdower temporarily repaired that with a sticker.  I think I'll leave that as-is.  Otherwise, my fingers will end up glued to something.

    THANK YOU!

Here's another set of 2600 games, this time not from a smoker. Haven't had time to test them all but if you see a game you want, let me know and I will clean and test it.

No photos, thankfully, but mine was a 1980 Buick Regal which I bought in the summer of 1992. It was a boat and did not run well. I don't think I spent more than $500 on it, so I guess I should have been happy it ran at all. I certainly don't have any fond memories of the six months I had it.

Since my last update, I showed what I took out of the recent Arcade USA Retro Junk Box, reviewed the Atari 7800 games Robotron 2084 & F-18 Hornet and also covered the 2600 versions of Dig Dug and Pete Rose Baseball.

I got my 1983 Toyota Camry LE 5 door in 1989 w/ 39k miles. Then bought a LeBra for it and then had the 7 windows tinted with limo tint all around.

Here's mine.    Loved this car.  Very reliable.  Had a bench seat!  I sold it in 1990 when I bought my very first new car (a 1990 Honda Civic).  If I ever collect old cars, I'm going to start with a really old Toyota or Honda.

I thought it would be cool if we could post photos and share stories of our first car

My first car was AMC Eagle 4 x 4 station wagon. I think it was a 1986 model. AMC owned Jeep then and put a Jeep powertrain in an older AMC Sportabout wagon design. It had lots of power, room for all your gear, drove like a car and it could plow through mud and snow like a Jeep. My friends and I would take this on camping trips and tailgates and had lots of good times at a drive in movie theater that was still around back then. I can't find a picture of it right this sec but here's what it looked like in the brochure:

I have a new post up on the blog about Adam Savage and his love of Millipede. Adam Savage is co-host (along with Jamie Hyneman) of the Discovery Channel television series MythBusters. Adam is absolutely enthralled with Millipede, and has been ever since he first discovered the game as a teenager while working at a bar as a busboy in 1984. He recently purchased a Millipede arcade machine which he found Craigslist, which he then modified and tries to play every day. Adam plays through a few levels of Millipede and gives a good demonstration of the game in a “Show and Tell” video which you can see on the blog.

I've never used a Supercharger but I always liked the idea of it. And that you could get those CD/MP3 compilations. I thought the games looked closer to the NES or at least Coleco than some of the regular 2600 games that were out at that time.
