RickR got a reaction from Justin in The 2019 Retro Swap Box
Arrived today. It's hard to see, but the dot-matrix address label is a nice feature from chas10e!
I'm slammed with work, but I'm going to try to get this out on Wednesday. Willie is next I think.

RickR got a reaction from RockyRaccoon in Way to Obtain Atari 5200 Physical Case Parts
That looks a lot like the one I sold a while ago, but I don't think I sold it on ebay. Funny how trashed some of those old consoles get. But the 5200 is a tank and I'm not surprised it still works.
Call Best Electronics and ask them if they sell spare case parts. Or, as you mention, you could always buy a broken 5200 and just borrow the top of the case.

Shipped it out this morning before I went to a pinball tournament, & I sent @RickR the tracking info.

A couple of homebrews, Fat Albert for 2600 & Gravitrex for the Vectrex, couple of Genesis games, T2 & Cyborg Justice. Wolfenstein New Order for the xb360. Intellivision booklet & a couple teeny-weenie Mario figures

It has some of the BEST Happy Meal toys of all the time!

RickR got a reaction from Atari Creep in 2018 McDonald's Mario Toys
Related, but not related: Earlier this year, McD's had "Avengers" toys that I thought were pretty cool. They also had a promotion with our local sports team for free 6 piece nuggets every time the team scored 100 points. So, my go-to the day after a Blazers win was to go to McD's and get the free nuggies and a hamburger happy meal. I ended up with about 5 or six of the Avenger toys. And also a pretty tasty lunch for about $3.50. I like how the happy meals come with apples, which is a little healthier...but it is a bit embarrassing to order a happy meal as a grown adult.
Since the season ended, I haven't been to McD's

RickR got a reaction from greenween in Adding ROMs To AtGames Atari Flashback 9 HD, 1,121 GAMES! - Emceemur
It's good to know about the paddle issue, but it's not a deal breaker. After all, the portable (which I love) doesn't have paddles either. Some games will just need to be played on an original console. Paddle games, Indy 500, and anything that uses a number pad.
But for 90% of the library, this thing will do fine. At $50 or so, it's a good deal. Plus, that HDMI output looks NICE.

I think we've all clamored for that SD card slot, so I think I'm going to go ahead and get one of these!

RickR got a reaction from Retro_Club in Game Cartridge Has No Sound
A single game cart with no sound when other games DO have sound? Never heard of that problem, and I'm not really sure it's possible...
May we get a better shot of the end label? The only possibility I can think of is that you got a PAL cart. If that was the case, you'd see a "P" on the end label.
Otherwise, I'd try playing another cart. Turn the sound up. If that works, then try playing Yars immediately after.

RickR got a reaction from Atari Creep in New Coke Is Coming Back!
I remember liking New Coke back then. But I have a feeling I'd think it's too sweet as an oldster.
