I love to see that people are playing on real hardware, but if you cant that's cool too - play have ever you can. I pride myself that every bit of game footage on the show is on real hardware, no emulation. The sounds are iconic, brings back memories. Here is mine so far. Playing another round after posting this. Played on real hardware an not sure where the interference is coming from.

It’s a really important game, as flawed as it is. Let’s remember that was the ONLY way to play pac man at home, at that time. That’s what made atari in the 80s, Pac-Man set Atari apart from every other system out there. Only ATARI had Pac-Man.
Plus remember, Pac-Man is...
- Totally accessible to everyone
- Totally iconic, as bad as it is

Great post and great idea. Ive been working on map that details all the pizza places we visited and what arcade cabs were in each one. Let's keep this history coming, this is great.

Great video I always enjoy your videos.
The floaty hovertank thing was I do believe actually intentional. The problem I think was that all of Atari's game designers came off of being operating system Developers. The 3D engine was designed by Eric Smith. You can actually go download this engine and assembler compile it and use it. While no you'll never get it to throws many polygons on the screen as a PlayStation or Saturn the engine used like I said is the Atari one and it's incredibly crappy overall.
You can see a bitching of its drawbacks here:
http://www.3do.cdinteractive.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=3430#p37499
Atari had one guy(Eric Smith) doing most of their 3D research and development along with just a shitload of other things. He was stretched just way too thin.
Thanks for that info. Wow who knew it was only one guy dealing with the 3D, but its not surprising

So just a little background regarding this video.
My kids and I watched every Nintendo direct on our WiiU, it became an event in our house and we were all very excited each time they came on.
I kept the kids on Nintendo systems for al long as I could because I wanted them to be kids, I wanted them to be lost in innocence and enjoy the kid and family friendly nature on Nintendo. Iwata, Reggie and Miamoto became stars to the kids and they realized that the long linage of games and characters they love these guys had a hand in all of it.
When Iwata died we all cried over here, it was very sad to see his passing.
The man that brought so much to our family fun time passed and we all sat there and cried. Because of these Nintendo directs my daughter is studying Japanese to become a translator for Nintendo, thats what she want to do.
This is such a touching tribute to his work

Hey gang, trying to solve a mystery here and I thought I'd bring it to the forum and try to figure it out. So today I was at Pixelvault games run by my friend Armando and he had the strangest item Ive seen in the store so far. This was a red plastic briefcase that held a CDI 450 and a track ball controller, along with the power cord that had a euro plug and some interactive game. The case was not amateur work, this was milled to spec and almost perfect. Here is the mystery - Why would anyone go to the trouble to do this for a CDI? Just kidding, not really but second, Could this have been what a salesman would have brought in to show off the system? What do you think something like this is worth?
Would love to hear your thoughts.

Yeah I might have to think about that. Right now I'm going over some really great games so it's easy to point out how well these games work. But believe me when the time comes I will be honest and fair. The great thing is I can actually speak from a point of view of actually owing these games when they came out, I'm not just a collector that is talking about pick ups, I actually had to feel the sting of buying a dud game and had to live with it.Hey BTB
Just an idea for FUTURE vids...
The key thing i love about your vids, from a look at viewpoint, is your not shy to point out what doesn't work..you don't go in with Atari lynx blindness...
So, on back of APB, which is missing the waggling intergation sequence, i was wondering if you plan to make special mention of sections other conversions to the Lynx LACK...
Thinking of: Lynx Shadow Of The Beast for starters.. NO FLYING SECTION.... and a different ending, to Amiga version.
Yet i know certain fanboys like to proclaim it as the BEST version.
But if we want to talk about best versions of Beast we should talk about the Turbo Duo version . But I do think the Lynx version is very very good.
I will be ending the Arcade port block on Lynx Lounge with Hard Driving... So yeah, ill have a few things to say about that.

Had to change the 5k pot on the foot pedal, the car was only going about 70mph and I heeded it to be around 190mph. Got a brand new pot and wouldn't you know it it the stem was just a little too long, like a hair too long - kinda snug, and the twisting ratio from 0 to 100 was just a bit off. Needless to say it took me two days to dial in the pot. It does not sit exactly like to 30 yr old pot did so I had to twist the whole pot about a quarter of an inch in the opposite direction. This was very important to find the sweet spot because you can't start the game without hitting the foot pedal. We are back on track The car is now hitting speeds of 180 to 190, Ill take it.
Next step - to recap the monitor or replace it with a LCD screen. I know what you're saying - why would you do that? Power consumption and heat.
Finally got a TurboGrafx-16

Welcome to the TG world. Had the system growing up, still play it to this day. It's hard to beat these games, they are so unique and they sound bad ass.
