  1. I passed on the EXP since I have two OG handhelds and the VS. I will likely pass on the Super Pocket although I do really like the look and colors of the standard editions. I do not like the Funstock exclusive versions at all.
  2. @Silver Back- where is an SD card slot mentioned in the specs? The memory listed is onboard. So, Atari is partnering with Plaion to bring this out. They are formerly Koch Media and are now part of Embracer Group. This is a HUGE global conglomerate. It means broad distribution and market reach. Also resources. In terms of is anyone wanting an easier way to play 2600/7800 carts on a modern TV; yes please. I have two modded 7800s and while they are generally great via an upscale, some games glitch on my 4K.
  3. I encourage folks to look at the compatibility list. https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0609/3658/5381/files/Atari-2600Plus-Compatibility.pdf Atari-2600Plus-Compatibility.pdf
  4. I think this is a good value considering that it's 7800 compatible and come with the 10-in-1 cart. Plus, it certainly looks the part. I wonder how it compares to the Retron 77 ($79.99) in terms of software compatibility and customization. The Retron 77 leaves much to be desired out of the box, but the community build adds a ton of functionality. The enhanced version of Berzerk has voice synthesis! So that's cool. My order is in, so I guess we'll see in November.
  5. Atari has announced the 2600+, now available for order via the Atari website. Additional joysticks are $29.99. The CX-30+ Paddles are $39.99 and comes bundled with a 4-in-1 cart. They are also re-releasing Berzerk 2600 for $29.99. Shipping in November 2023, so you can have an Atari under your tree. Details at atari.com.
  6. Glad that you're working your way through it @RickR! I'll look forward to hearing what you think about the rest of the season.
  7. Since @D.joe is on a boat, it was up to me to reclaim the top spot for ClubVCS and the VCS Discord server from the mysterious John Dare.
  8. Announced today via the Atari VCS Twitter account.
  9. Release Date: August 25, 2023 Retail: TBD Developer: Tree Fall Games Publisher: Tree Fall Games Official Site Synopsis: Tilting Tiles is a unique movement based puzzle game. Guide the tile through each level’s environment while collecting every item within the move limit. Your goal is to find the most efficient route possible. Examine each level carefully to solve your way across the terrain using special moves and the environment to your advantage to stay within the move limit. Tilting Tiles is a minimalist puzzle experience built upon a simple premise that contains puzzles that provoke deep thinking. Each time you move, you add to your move count. In the bottom right corner of the game screen there is a counter alerting you to the amount of moves you are allowed to use per level. To clear a level, you must collect every item on the stage. Between the item placement and the move limit, a unique puzzle is formed. Each level is a new layout of routing challenges. You must analyze the level and determine what route to take. As you progress you may discover that you did not calculate your moves correctly or that you misunderstood what would happen down a certain path. This is part of the learning process and you can instantly restart a level anytime you get stuck or use too many moves. Once you use up all your moves you can no longer move the player. The level does not immediately restart however, so you have time to study your mistake before you re-attempt the level. Can you guide the lost tile to victory? Grid Based Movement 50+ Levels Special Movement Options
  10. Welcome to the official topic for Tilting Tiles
  11. One of the most fun score chasers that I've played in awhile. @D.joe really gave me a hard time for the top spot.
  12. The mini arcade was on Amazon a few weeks ago but is now delisted. GenX Grownup just did a reveal of the joystick for the gamestation pro so its still coming. It looks like they made some revisions since the reveal.
  13. I am really enjoying Quantum Recharged and currently hold 1st on the VCS online leaderboards in Arcade mode and second in Missions Mode. I dare say it's better than the arcade original. They really did a great job with it.
  14. As Rick said, you have it covered with a great plan! Hopefully they can contain the fire and prevent further evacuations.
  15. Great episode @Shinto. I know that your impressions are based on the Switch version, but I just want to note that paddle control on the Atari VCS with the Classic Controller is excellent. It really elevates the experience for all paddle games and makes Neo-Breakout my favorite of the Reimagined titles. This is also where the analog input for T2K comes into play; its for the spinner on the Classic Controller.
  16. Yeah, it's a tough game and ramps up quickly. There are definitely a few Missions Mode levels that seem impossible at my current skill level.
  17. Thanks @RickR ! My favorite carts are Irem Arcade 1, Atari Lynx 1 & 2, and the Xenocrisis/Tanglewood Dual cart (mainly due to Xenocrisis.)
  18. Chilling in the top spot of the Quantum Recharged leaderboards.

  19. Thanks for sharing these fantastic insights! I wonder if the 100k rule held true for Atari under Sam during the Jaguar's run? With such a limited installed user base, that's nearly a 70 percent attach rate for each sold out title based on 150,000 Jaguars sold during its commercial life. I've read AVP was the best seller at 85K.
  20. Who else has tried the free demo?! I'm loving the implementation of the Classic Controller on this one.

It has the vibe of the Millennium Falcon flying in to destroy the second Death Star in "Return of the Jedi"

  22. A quick gameplay only first look at the newly released demo of Super Star Shooter 16 for the Atari VCS. This retro-inspired rail shooter from JD Video Game Productions comes to the VCS later this fall. The demo is available in the store for FREE right now!
