  1. the Goodwill's 'round here for most gaming stuff have them bagged & tagged with "Goodwill tech certified" label & pehaps a bit overpriced IMO

they DO have a decent return policy so I suppose that may have something to do with the items being checked somehow. but I'd prefer the "curb & gutter warranty"  ..... once it hits the curb, you got-'er

  2. What makes this a "legit lost game" is a newspaper article in the Chicago Tribune of Jan. 15 ,1984 announcing it's release https://chicagotribune.newspapers.com/

an Atariage member discovered the article in Christmas of  2009 http://atariage.com/forums/topic/155420-arkyology-new-prototype-discovered-finished-game/

Just shy of six years later in 2015 the game designer stumbled upon that thread with an awesome "necrobump"  http://atariage.com/forums/topic/155420-arkyology-new-prototype-discovered-finished-game/?p=3316771

Within that thread it was also discovered he was the designer of other perhaps obscure arcade games as well, like "Tugboat" & "Leprechaun"

  3. Nice score greenween!

Man oh man, these tracks are tough! Especially Suzuka, it's nearly impossible. Hats off to anyone able to finish that course. This has been incredibly challenging, but I love it. This was always one of my favorite and most sentimental games but it's been at least 4-5 years since I last played. This past day or two I really felt like I've pulled the old racing suit out of the closet, gotten suited up and gone back out on the track. It's been a lot of fun.

    I feel like I hit a solid wall @ 255 MPH :pow_big: :pole_position_big: :pow_big:

:nintendo_mario_coin: I think if ANYONE can complete the Seaside or the Suzuka track they;ll be the driving ace for this challenge :nintendo_mario_coin:

I'm getting a bit better on those tracks with at least one lap completed after qualifying :pole_position_blimp_big:

  4. Test Track = 268.00

had to do a test run and fortunately :mac_alert:  I HAD MY CAMERA READY , :mac_alert:

after passing bonus is counted it seems to go back to the track selection screen.

Imma try the pause button but will STILL KEEP MY CAMERA READY !!!!

    EDIT:

ok next race ( I didn't finish crashed to many times :(  ) BUT if you wait it will show your last scores & lap time while in attract mode

*whew* I was nervous for a little minute

  5. So I made it to around 700k after getting the multipliers to 9 and bouncing up and down in the left lane for 60 times, maybe? I knew I had to get the ball back to the plunger to video this, and I did! Sorry for the cheap camera, dog barking, tv in the other room. LOL

think it went through 235 times :o I counted the "9"'s mutiplied by 9 & then added "1"

    just c/p the URL

  6. The horror. I hit 550,000 with the first ball. Thought I could take a break, filled the wife's car with Freon and found out my game was ended.

Wow! That stinks! But great score!!!

certainly is a great score .... I think the game ended so the color-cycling thing would kick-in & prevent burn-in on them old TV's ( new at the time)

of course if I walked by .... I have a rule.... if a ball is in a shooter lane & nobody is around I will play the rest of the game

  7.

Willie! "Knieval" is ready to jump some buses and play some pong with the Sears Telegames MotorCross Sports Center IV!

my 10 year old nephew likes the drag-race games on these ...yeah it took awhile to figger-out how to shift as I didn't have the manual.

the uniqueness of the pong game on this particular unit is the 4 player pong only allows a player the top or bottom of the screen. unlike say Atari 2600 Video Olympics where the players can stumble over each other.

have you gotten to "the kill screen" yet ?

I have yet to see the arcade version ...but when I do I'll be spending some time there for sure !!!!!
