Justin got a reaction from RickR in Uh, if it rains a lot in your area, an $80K Tesla "Cybertruck" might not be right for you.
DeLorean owner here, checking in. I have 25 years experience with Stainless Steel bodied car care. Let me tell you, it's a bundle of joy. Especially with people constantly wanting to touch your car. Improper care of the Stainless will cause problems. A few tips for Cybertruck owners:
"Rust spots" aren't actually rust. It's what builds on fingerprints, etc. I'm willing to bet that's what's happening with the Cybertrucks. I know zero about the Cybertruck as I'm not interested in it, but I'm willing to bet there's a no rust-thru warranty on the bodies. The DeLorean came with a 25-year warranty on the bodies, which were backed by the german company that supplied the stainless steel and long outlived DMC. Show me a DeLorean anywhere in the world with rust holes through it after 40+ years.
Bar Keepers Friend and Soft Scrub are your best friends for properly cleaning stainless.
Industrial Kitchen Cleaner spray, after a basic top-down wash with water and dry of the car, is my favorite and most reliable way to wash the car.
Weiman Stainless Steel Wipes are a nice way to finish off the car after you've washed it of any dirt.
Fingerprints are an issue after a while. Be prepared if you're in public and people touch the car. Stainless Steel Wipes are very helpful.
Gasoline rubs out anything. The instruction manual suggests that if you get tar on the body of your car, use a paper towel lightly dipped in gasoline to rub out the tar, then thoroughly rinse with water, dry and properly dispose of the towel.
Don't use Brillo Pads, use Scotch Brite Heavy Duty Scour Pads instead, and rub with the grain, not in circles. Brillo Pads will leave little shards of metal from the pad left between the grain in the Stainless. Those metal specs will rust, and give the appearance that the Stainless is rusting when it is not.
Wax is definitely not the answer for a Stainless Steel bodied car, at least in the case of the DeLorean. I have to think that 40 years later, Tesla made it a priority to create a Stainless Steel body that could be treated and washed like a regular car - put through a car wash, waxed, etc. I'm not so sure that's the case. I'm willing to bet Stainless is Stainless and that means finger prints and "rust" spots and Soft Scrub and Bar Keepers Friend, I would hope that Tesla prepared their owners for this and created a "bulletproof" truck that is at least as resistant to fingerprints as my refrigerator is.
I'm assuming Tesla offers a Stainless Steel car wash kit, with a grain pad, Stainless Steel cleaner and polish (see example below). That's probably the best bet for washing at home.
I've been looking forward to standing back and watching the public react to naive Cybertruck owners. I've seen this story play out before. Obnoxious owners, combined with a press and others who don't understand / don't embrace something new and different, rev boys looking for attention, etc. And everyone in the parking lot thinking they know more about your car than you do and looking for something to point fault at, coming up to you and sharing their opinion and throwing the same disinformation at you day after day after day, and calmly offering a thoughtful response to them, as the ambassador to your car that you are. I bet electric car owners have very different yet strikingly similar stories. I knew going into this that Cybertruck owners would likely run into these common issues that arise from treating Stainless Steel like it's a painted car. We went through the same thing when we started seeing normies in falcon winged Tesla Model Xs driving around trying to show off with their doors up (awful idea and genuinely obnoxious) carelessly clipping the tips of their doors on the side of busses and garage doors, and twisting their car doors at the hinges mounted at the center of the roof. Yikes.

Awesome I ordered the Katakana Atari messenger bag! $5 off brought it to $45 after tax shipping etc. Great deal 😉 I got Days of Doom for my free game, since it was one I had not purchased as a pricier game, since i'm not a huge fan of that genre of game, but I played it last night, it was ok 😉 lol I'll be featuring it on No Filter HD tomorrow night!

I understand he's not the only person working on it. But he did purchase the Intellivision brand at the beginning of the Amico. I don't know if he still owns it now or not. Since the Amico having trouble not coming to "life" I really haven't heard of him since. It's almost like he's disappeared. And while he might not have worked on it personally he was the spokesperson for the system. He knew what was going on.  He might have had big plans for the system as far as specs go but I often wonder if it came down to what he was after just really was way beyond what was available at the price point they were going to try to sell the Amico for.
I've been out of the loop for a long time and I really haven't kept up with it. I'm not saying the product isn't cool because I thought the styling of the console was really neat. But it's been how long now?? And still nothing.  Just a bunch of words and showing of games.  I've not seen the hardware in a functioning form and if there is one it's probably the only one. I just don't see the Amico actually doing anything.  And if/when it does come out it's already going to be a retro console. I don't have any hopes for it.
I also feel that this whole Amico thing has sort of killed the IntelliVision brand name.  I have got about 30 INTV games here without a console. I can't even get rid of them for a $1 a game.  I'm not sure if that is due to the Amico or not.  Most likely not...but that's what it seems like.

My wife and I went out Tuesday night for Valentines since we couldn't go out on Wednesday. We checked out a new restaurant called Gracia in Seattle. I went there with a co-worker for lunch for the first time a month ago and liked it a lot.
Started with fried calamari and then empanada and a dish with slightly spicy octopus and smoky pork belly (I forget the name), and finished with made-to-order churros that came with chocolate fondue. Everything was excellent. This is a Mexican restaurant, but it's not the common Americanized(?) burritos and taco kind of place.

I'm currently the opposite of this - Just moved, no landline, no cable tv, no high speed internet, just running everything off of the hotspot on my phone including everything on my computer for work plus streaming to my TV. It's been flawless.

🧐Anyone else handle all "phone calls" with just a landline and no mobile phone service in 2024?😁
I suspect NO since it sometimes seems 90% of the modern world population does but we still manage without amazingly. With some minor exceptions. Yes, we still use a landline because we get maybe 20 calls a year that aren't marketing or the wrong number 🤷‍♂️Landline plus Ignite Internet 1.5 Gigabit plan. All we need, we don't have, use or need mobile phones with a continuous contracted service because when we are out and about phone calls can wait, our devices (her iPhone and my iPad Mini 5 and Android phone) can access Free Shaw Wi-Fi with wide overage throughout the city. It's funny though because so many people, services and companies are STUNNED that we exist without mobile phones and cellular service, never have and we continue this in 2024 🧐anytime we are asked for our cell number and explain neither of us has them we always get a pause or a deer in the headlights look from them, yes one CAN exist with mobile phone service, it can be somewhat inconvenient at times sure, and some react like we are Luddites or something, hilarious since my wife handles I.T. support for the provinces health authority and I been into tech since I first saw a pixel on a screen. It's about "choice" and not buying something simply because everyone else does. Now my wife DOES have an iPhone SE and for the first time this year, when we go to Mexico for a week's vacation, she has contracted an E-Simm service data plan just for the duration of our trip, this will cost bout $ 12 USD 😝, the occasional out of country trip maybe once every year or two will be the only time she will use such a service, for my devices I have no interest in it and will remain with Wi-Fi and if there is none available I am happy to go without it until I get back 😆Honestly, I consider it a "self-imposed restriction" as more and more when we are out enjoying things I am striving to be less distracted and living more "in the moment".

Not that it matters but I just got an email from Intellivision. Sounds like more BS to me.

There was a time when I had high hopes for the Amico. But I soon realized how much of a bullshitter Tommy was becoming. He was always dancing around questions investors were asking. Never a direct answer about how soon the Amico was to be ready for release. But he would answer questions about what games were coming to it.

I do place some of the blame of it failing on the pandemic. With it shutting down damn near the whole world it would have made it difficult to obtain the parts required to make it. But that’s over now.

I have lost all interest in it. I’m glad I didn’t invest in it. I’m good with the VCS.

Justin reacted to MaximumRD in TWO Panzer Dragoon Prototypes Found Hiding on Sega Saturn Demo Discs with Big Changes!
Everyone loves Sega saturn and everyone REALLY loves Panzer Dragoon! And today we have a two brand new prototype builds of Panzer Dragoon on Japanese exclusive demo discs, which is awesome because who wouldn't want Sega prototypes for what many consider the Best Sega Saturn Game! It runs on real hardware, on the MiSTer FPGA Sega Saturn core and via Mednafen emulation! Gotta love Sega prototypes and retro gaming all in one!
Low Content Burning Rangers just released a patch for the Japanese version of two Sega Saturn demo discs (one of the best retro games IMO) that allows you to access a different beta builds of Panzer Dragoon that were never meant to be playable on the demo disc! Video game preservation and video game development all in one! This is after we got the Saturn Bomberman Prototype Bomberman SS and prototypes of Clockwork Knight too!
