  1. Interesting. Well this is exactly why I made my post about moving on and it is what it is etc, because it always seems somehow info gets back to AA. BUT I will say I guess it is something he botherered to register, post, apologize and say there would be no more such marketing attempts, he seemed to actually be concerned about how outsiders perceived such behaviour.

Probably still best you banished him and shut him down I guess, sends a clear message that we are just not into such nonsense and have no interests in tolerating such behaviour. If it is an "in joke" between certain AA Intellivision collectors than perhaps that is where it should stay.

Yep finally a new video, nothing too special but still a little fun. It's short so have a look.

    Description - Published on Oct 21, 2016

Contrary to popular opinion I AM NOT DEAD lol. Here is proof that I am still alive as I take you for a little stroll to the ELECTRONICS RECYCLING BIN to see if there are any goodies. Much to my surprise I drop the camera while filming DOH! Share in the adventure! OK not much of an adventure but still a bit of fun and hey you can check out the beautiful October scenery on our property.

  3. Did they actually push any hardware specifications? I didn't think I did. I just am waiting for the Wii U to get even cheaper.

Though nothing solid I am hearing an Nvidia Tegra variant?

    https://blogs.nvidia.com/blog/2016/10/20/nintendo-switch/

I did find THIS posted in a few articles. TAKE IT WITH A GRAIN OF SALT UNTIL CONFIRMED.

     Nintendo Switch specifications

After Nvidia's last showing with the RSX chip on the PS3, the Nintendo Switch will be sporting a custom Tegra processor, another leak that has come true. According to Nvidia, it's a "high-efficiency scalable processor includes an Nvidia GPU based on the same architecture as the world’s top-performing GeForce gaming graphics cards." The idea is, according to the company, to allow blistering fast to the mainstream, building NVN - a new API to make this possible, along with a new physics engine, advanced game tools, and libraries to boot. Though nothing has been said of its raw performance numbers, its developer kits allegedly sport the following specifications:

    • Four ARM Cortex-A57 cores, max 2GHz
    • Nvidia second-generation Maxwell architecture
    • 256 CUDA cores, max 1GHz, 1024 FLOPS/cycle
    • 4GB RAM (25.6 GB/s, VRAM shared)
    • 32 GB storage (Max transfer 400 MB/s)
    • USB 2.0 and  3.0
    • 1280 x 720 6.2-inch IPS LCD
    • 1080p at 60 fps or 4k at 30 fps max video output
    • Capcitance method, 10-point multi-touch
  4. I will say it really seems like another gadget for the Nintendo specific fans yet again. I get it, Nintendo is not competing with anyone else, they haven't for some time, I just wish they WOULD but clearly they never intend to again. I just not been into Nintendo exclusive titles for a long time and I am betting the 3rd party support will be same as always meaning very little and what there IS of it will be just be ports of games that are dummied down version for a less powerful console. Oh it would be nice if instead they released specific games that played to this new devices strengths (like Nintendo originally promised with the WiiU) but instead 3rd parties don't seem to want to support Nintendo with good exclusive titles anymore. I wish that were not the case BUT YOU KNOW IT IS GOING TO BE :P

  5. And with that let's all just move on please, Atariage is what it is and we are what we are, no more venting and going on about it, it is done and nothing has changed at least in that once again we see the difference between sites, let's be the better and move on. As I said originally my intent was not cross forum drama but clarification, we can all choose what dealings we do or do not have with AA, they spun it as a marketing joke and it is typical for those involved, I don't have to like it, I don't but it is what it is. I think whenever we see such threads on AA we merely need to be on guard and take it with a large grain of salt and see how it plays out. This is how I have been cautious since that time I fell for something similar a while back. A leopard does not change it's spots and we have some connections with AA so no need to add any more fuel at this point.

  6. @Arenafoot, don't sweat it man, was not that long ago I posted something similar and was similarly "duped"  :(

Just solidifies everything I said in post #4. Eric and others involved think that kind of thing is hilarious, I do not. Even after all my years and experience on AA I still fall for it myself I guess because it is not the type of thing I would personally do, not the kind of thing I find amusing so I guess I am still not expecting anyone to do such things. That said I cannot say I am surprised in the least and really I should of known better considering Eric was making the claim, I mean considering what I know of him and my personal opinion what are the odds HE all of people would legit discover such a thing?  :P

One disturbing thing though, is the snark and negative vibe over on that other board for the post.  Is it just me that feels it?

In any case, this person found something really really cool.  And I thank you for posting this here.

Yes it is pretty common and a acquired "taste" lol. Seriously, when I tell people about the supportive, helpful, friendly vibe here on our site I mean it, when I say that this site truly is "special" I mean that to. In all my years I have found classic gaming related forums and groups to pretty much be like Atariage (some slightly better, some even worse!) it is something over the years I just learned to accept as a means to an end but you do have to be ready to do some heavy ignoring of certain people or learn to give it back. When I am here I am certainly less "on guard"  then I am on other related sites and that is a good thing. We may be small but we have something unlike any other site here. I will tell you though without wanting to spark any cross forums drama that yes, to a outsider and non regular visitor AA can certainly seem abrasive at times, I have learned to accept it over the years and just use it for the good info and for the still good people there (there really are many including Albert himself) so I make exceptions to maintain my place on AA. I will say though RickR, in the case of that particular thread, had you known the long history, the fellow who made that particular awesome find has certainly done himself no favours on several occasion over the years  , trust me he has pulled some attitude and stunts over the years that have pushed at least a few people to put him on "ignore", so while I am impressed and happy with his find if he is getting a little flack or ribbing over it I would say it is pretty much "karma" at this point. ;)  .

  8. Well this is fun. Was not sure it counted but the dressers, stands and night table are all definitely not wood but particle board coated with a plastic faux woodgrain, I actually have a couple wooden dressers so took me a second to realize the difference. The tables / stand / dressers I guess I cannot claim they were made to appear wooden for no reason, clearly it was done to appear we had better furniture than one could actually afford  :P but I included them anyway as I don't think I had given much thought to how many things we had that still had this style.

My particle board Bedroom dresser (wife's is actually wood)
