  1. Will not load on Windows 7 :-(

You appear to be attemting to launch game directly from the .ZIP FILE? UnZip entire folder content then go in folder and click DK.exe.

I recreated your exact same issue trying to run from archive. Worked fine once I extracted the folder.

    Instructions from site -

    Install instructions
Extract the Zip file and run DK.exe. Press C to add a credit, then Enter to start. Use the Config tool to remap the keys, to make it Free Play, enable full screen, and other options.

Otherwise I have no idea. Works fine on my Windows 10.

  2. Donkey Kong Advanced

A remake of the classic arcade game. This is not a rom hack. It's meant to be more difficult than the original giving players new levels and new challenges. I've tried to study the original as close as I can to maintain the same feel, but added new elements and challenges. Even though it can be played on your PC, it's meant to be played in people's mame arcade cabinets. If you ever put this game in your cabinet, send me a screenshot or video!

[bug Reports] Contact me at justinbohemier@gmail.com if you find a bug. Please try to be as detailed as possible and include system specs.

    [updates]

-Added 16-bit support for older video cards

-Added the option in the config tool to manually enter a specific resolution.

-I included a tool to map out keyboard keys if you're using a joystick.

    [Changes from the original]

-Obviously the levels look different, some completely new, and others have the same level structure with some differences

-New switch, laser, and key system to save Pauline.

-Mario can jump off high platforms and land without killing himself(c'mon, he's mario)

-New heart bonus items are worth 2000 points but are tricky to get.

-No intro scene, I might add one though.

-Barrels rebound off the floor higher than before

-Hitting barrels with the hammer doesn't pause the game during the explosion

-Level 4 is icy, with a shoe item you can get that makes it not slipery

    -and some other stuff

    [Possible Future Changes]

-More levels. I'm tempted to have 1 long game that doesn't repeat. Instead of repeating every 4 levels, you might have 12 levels with an actual end to the game.

-Bonus level if you collect all the hearts.

-Intro to the game when you push start.

    -Cut scenes

Anti-Virus Warning: Some people have had their anti-virus flag the exe as a virus, myself included, but I can assure you there's no virus. It was compiled using Freebasic and for some strange technical reason, certain anti-virus programs flag programs compiled with this compiler as having a virus, I don't know why. Just add it to your exceptions list.

  3. These are really nice, but I would highly recommend an Atari 800XL instead.  The 800XL is essentially the same (minus the built-in Missile Command game), but is of much higher build quality.  Plus easier to find and less expensive.

I have an 800XL as well as a...is it 130 XE? Been a while I have to check. I just always wanted one of these because they are so funky.

  4. This is one system that have always been tempted by.

Yes me as well! Regret not biting back when I was still actively collecting. Considering I really only cared about gaming on Atari systems seems like the perfect console. But I rarely ever seen them available for decent price (to get to Canada including shipping) and honestly don't think I have ever seen one in person. Just something about it, the funky pastel colors lol.

Console Wars Heat Up As Zenith Unveils Gamespace Pro

    post-15-0-65230100-1486171893_thumb.jpg

LINCOLNSHIRE, IL—With next-generation video game systems such as the Xbox One and the Playstation 4 hitting stores later this month, the console wars got even hotter today as electronics manufacturer Zenith announced the release of its own console, the Gamespace Pro, which arrives in stores Nov. 19. “With its sleek silver-and-gray box, double-analog-stick controllers, ability to play CDs, and starting price of $374.99, the Gamespace Pro is our way of saying, ‘Move over, Sony and Microsoft, Zenith is now officially a player in the console game,’” said Zenith CEO Michael Ahn at a Gamespace Pro press event, showcasing the system’s launch titles MoonChaser: RadiationCris Collinsworth’s Pigskin 2013, and survival-horror thriller InZomnia. “With over nine launch titles, 3D graphics, and the ability to log on to the internet using our Z-Connect technology, Zenith is finally poised to make some big waves in the video game world.” According to Zenith representatives, over 650 units have already been preordered.

  7. B) I use to have a first-gen iPad and I loved it.  The only thing I didn't like about it was that I couldn't take it outside or use it in areas where there was too much sunlight.  You couldn't see anything on the screen unless you were in darker areas.  Forget taking it outside even on cloudy days.  But it did work well and I enjoyed the apps that Apple had for it that were either free or cost very little.  They just worked.  Simple as that.  I think you will like it once you get use to it and the Apple way of things.  For me the hardware is good but I've moved on...I prefer Android, Windows, and Ubuntu Linux.  Don't get me wrong.  If I had the opportunity to get an iMac Mini, iPad, or anything like that from Apple I would as they are good products.  I just have no need for it when there are similar items on the market that is more cost-efficient.  That is an awesome thing you got, Maximum, and I know you guys will enjoy it.  I got the Bookshelf and a few free books with mine...one of which was an old Winnie The Pooh book.

Hmmm did my first real testing today. Being the iPAD 3 with retina display I can only assume it can attain higher brightness levels. Low to Medium was practically invisible on this sunny day as expected but setting it around 75-80% brightness allowed me to shoot with no issue at all. I just shot a bit inside then walked a bit around the Condo grounds and yeah as soon as I stepped outside I had to turn it up a lot but that said seemed to work quite well.

Today was my first day doing any real testing, getting use to actually holding this surprisingly heavy tablet. Was pretty cool out fortunately I have gloves that have these little finger tips on thumb and 3 fingers that actually work with touch screens. Just little private clips I am uploading for testing, I want to be fairly comfortable shooting with the iPAD before I start uploading public videos again. As I suspected the camera on this model is not quite on par with my old SONY BLOGGIE, image stabilization was definitely better but that said I been shooting video for so long I can be pretty steady when I try, actually the weight and size of the iPad seem to almost force me to take more time and use a steady hand anyway. The iPAD definitely has better sound though. So my testing so far indicates I should be pretty good with it soon and most importantly above all else comparing the two the iPAD is dependable and I do not have to worry about it crapping out on me during filming as my Bloggie seems to be doing more and more, the iPAD just does what I want it to do so that is much more encouraging and motivating for me to make youtube videos.

Yes I will always consider myself more a Windows / Android guy at heart but as you touched on I was given an incredible offer and I simply needed the device for shooting videos, no not something I'd have chosen for myself but as they say "Beggars can't be choosers" so I reconsidered and accepted and now I am glad I did because as another person commented elsewhere at least if I still have a complaint or gripe about the platform I can at least speak from a place of hands on experience.  But really overall I am very happy, it is certainly better than any hardware I already owned, LOVE my cheap import ANDROID tablets for emulation and gaming and the odd browsing but to say the camera are utter SHIT is putting it nicely, on top of that with my good old SONY BLOGGIE starting to crap out on me well, I am very thankful to have the iPAD 3, I do try to make the most of what I have and this is not different.

  8. Well  been holding this one back before posting here but I cannot wait any longer. This was a huge surprise for me from a longtime online friend who offered me an incredible deal I could not pass up. I will only say that since this video I am already becoming comfortable and efficient with the platform and intend to make the most of it!  ;)  :spot:

  9. What...is...THAT!  I wanna try it!  I wonder if they actually put it in a production run?

Naw this is totally photo shopped modern creativity, not a shred of "reality" behind it hah!  Just a cruel tease.  :o

  10.

Thanks a ton in advance for your input guys!!!!

Just so you are aware there is a major Compatibility and testing thread on AA that should prove useful to any owner of this handheld, lot's of testing going on, swapping out or repair of ROMS that do not work and having complete archived zips ready to unpack onto the root of your SDcard all solid and proven working for your device. ;) Check it out.

    Atari Flashback Portable Compatibility List

    http://atariage.com/forums/topic/258970-atari-flashback-portable-compatibility-list/page-1?hl=+flashback%20+portable

  11. Yes, unfortunately that's not what I'm doing, I used the stock Intellivision RF cable and coax to F adapter with my NES to make sure there was nothing wrong with my Intellivision RF cable.

Oh ok thanks for the clarification, sorry for my confusion, I seen this happen a lot so wanted to rule that out.

So NES works fine with RF adaptor and cable but not INTY.....Hmmmm, so this particular Intellivision has worked or worked on a different TV? These Pre NES console CAN be fussy from one TV to the next as some TV's are just better at tuning them in. You are getting a display but no sound, is it manual tuning on the TV? Maybe a slight adjustment, if digital tuning with no over ride option I am not sure, solid picture but no sound is puzzling. I hate to suggest but if it currently works on another TV than it is likely the Panasonic is just not up to it. IF not perhaps lightly tap  flick  the cable just where it plugs into the Intellivision while a game is displayed, just maybe the internal RF unit has a cracked solder joint or something, whether or not you can fix it at least you would know the culprit. FINALLY if you have the option try sending the Intellivision RF output to the input of a VCR or any device with it's own built in tuner and output it to the TV as that sometimes does a better job tuning in the signal and boosting it for display on the TV. Annnd THAT"S ALL I GOT anyway, hope you figure it out!

  12. Intellivision is not designed to fully engage the signal using a NES RF switch. IF that is what you are doing, Nintendo redesigned to make the RF switchbox switch automatically when the console was turned on. Pre-nes systems (2600/ Intellivision/Coleocvision/ various computers etc) do not output the necessary output to "push over" the switchbox fully, You need to connect directly to TV using the RF to coaxial adapter OR use an original swithcbox (where you manually switch between video / TV) Nintendo RF switch box does not work with these older systems.

  13. Was not quite sure WHERE to place this (feel free to move to more appropriate thread) as it is not truly a "classic" computing game but rather a modern game focusing on the classic text adventure genre. See what you think, I will embed a video as well as link to the site to download for yourself:
