  1. Just a soothing bus ride to the mall. It is the one Double Decker on the line so I was top floor front of course! Had to go for a Dental Checkup last week (all was well) so I recorded the journey to the Mall. No Narration or anything just a sunny and calm ride I thought I would share with you all to let you know I AM still here. THANKS.

  2. My ! Lost ! unboxing of an Atari computer! SEE DESCRIPTION

Lost unboxing of an Atari computer! I unbox and share some info about it! ;)  Well, not so much lost BUT I had uploaded this 5 years ago on VIMEO and somehow never got around to uploading it to my main Youtube channel (at least I cannot find it) so it would have had little views and I figured about time I share with you guys lol. I literally only stumbled upon it because VIMEO wanted me to update some info so here you go. Lost unboxing of an Atari computer!

  3. Well have not done a video for ages BUT here is something quick I threw together for today. just a quick daily check in our recycling bin because tomorrow evening we may goet rainfall and flooding the likes we have not had in like 200 years. City is basically under State of Emergency due to predicted rainfall for tonight and tomorrow : See HERE

Kelowna posted May 10, 2017 by KelownaNow Staff State of Emergency: Mayor of Kelowna asks residents to pull together for possible one in 200 year event. Flooding throughout the Central Okanagan has resulted in a number of Evacuation Alerts, Orders and road closures. The City of Kelowna, City of West Kelowna and the Fintry Delta in the Regional District of Central Okanagan declared a state of emergency on Saturday, May 6, 2017 due to flooding from various creeks spilling their banks in the Central Okanagan. With warm temperatures, rising freezing levels and 25-40 mm of rain forecast for Thursday, May 11, 2017 to Sunday May 14, 2017, rising water levels throughout the valley are a real concern.

"Forecasts released on Monday could be predicting a one in 200-year event," said Shaun Reimer, Section Head, Public Safety and Protection. Mayor Colin Basran in the video below has encouraged Kelowna residents to prepare for rising water levels in local creeks and streams and to work together to help friends, family and neighbours during this flooding event."

HONESTLY I hope they are wrong, I do not really expect to see floods appearing down our streets, at least I am hoping but who knows? When we first moved here years ago that summer we sustained the worst Fires that summer and thought "Geez is this normal here?" it wasn't really it was just timing. Anyway lights have flickered so there is also chance of power outages (which could be the worst part lol) so let's just hope it does not end up as bad as they suggest.

Anyway, with all that said here is my quick silly little video, done mostly just to let my Youtube subscribers know I am at least still alive.  :spot:

UPDATE ! Fortunately flooding in my area has not happened and currently it is more sunny than cloudy! Crisis averted! We are out of the danger. Surrounding cities / towns sadly had a much worse time.

  4. I am watching them, I "have" them all and have watched around 5 episodes at my leisure. I tried really hard to temper my expectations as excited as I was about it returning. I was not there for the initial run of the original series as I think the broadcasting was different here in Canada and only discovered it a few years ago but man I was hooked instantly. My first ever was Kitten With a Whip with Kevin / Bill / Mike and I quickly obtained every episode  could obtain. Now, I have seen every original episode and some several times, I went back to watch the Joel episodes of course. I cannot say if it was because I started with MIKE era but I really go for those episodes more. Mike's run just entertained me more, Joel era was quite different and I appreciate the origins and creativity and will always be thankful to Joel for his creation and I have never been one to participate in any arguments on which era was "better" as I believe there is no right or wrong they are just different styles that appeal to different people. Anyway, as for the new season 11 I am trying to give it a chance for sure and I will watch them all, I loved some cameos and some of the fan service etc, I believe all involved really are trying but it just does not come together quite right, almost as this riffing is more just "saying stuff", what I mean is it does not always seem like well written comedy, some stuff just seems to be thrown out there for the sake of saying something. Now occasionally I will chuckle here or there or even think "Oh ok good one" with a certain riff but I don't think it has found it's stride yet, I HOPE they return for another run and find their footing. I really do not see myself watching any of the episodes I have seen thus far a second or even multiple times as i have done with many original episodes. Here is a good article regarding some things fans may of wondered that may be covered in another new season you guys might like -

  5. post-15-0-46076900-1494273776_thumb.jpeg

Well thanks for the heads up on this,  though I most certainly would have seen this new trailer by the end of the day knowing me there's a good chance I might've missed the Atari logo at the beginning, since there's not much of a company these days I highly doubt this was  intentional product placement and more likely just a fan service for those of us who would get it and appreciate it! The first thing I did was play it back in HD and make a screen grab,  this makes it awesome cover for my Facebook profile  Cover  ha ha ha ha.

I'm not endorsing this...I just found it interesting, and it may be worth a look.  Looks like it allows the use of an old PC joystick or gamepad (with 15 pin connector) on a 5200.  It may be a really nice alternative to the super expensive digital joysticks for 5200.

Oh for SURE it is nice to be able to use a old analogue PC controller in combo with a keypad on the 5200! Especially since PC controllers are pretty cheap and plentiful. I actually have an option for that, years ago a fellow on Atari age sold DIY Y-adapters that allowed connection of such a controller along with your 5200 controller simultaneously giving you access to the regular 5200 pad, certainly not an elegant or pretty solution but it works!

  7. Due out for Christmas 2018..............

    http://wwg.com/2017/04/20/five-reasons-a-nintendo-64-classic-system-would-be-a-good-thing/#1

    Nintendo 64 Mini Classic!

Would be great but sadly that article is nothing but assumption and clickbait. :(  And honestly N64 emulation has not been the greatest even on PC so a plug-n-play based on N64 for would be a surprise even from Nintendo who for some reason have  themselves seemingly been reluctant to revisit the N64 platform. I would not even consider this being a possibility until a Snes classic Mini is selling and even then I would not bet on it.

THAT SAID if their "prediction" come to fruition this is one I would actually like to get! Nes / Snes have soooo many ways to emulate well those did nit really interest me, the NES Classic mini would have been great with the hack to add hundreds of roms but otherwise I was not really interested personally. Now N64? A sweet bundle of games on a mini version of that console if they were well emulated (I would expect no less from Nintendo) would be something I would actually consider.

  8. This actually looks pretty good, might be better than a lot of official SONIC releases of late!

SONIC TIME TWISTED RELEASED AFTER 12 YEARS OF DEVELOPMENT

It’s rare that a Sonic fan game gets fully released. Many are often cancelled or often stay in development hell after releasing one or two demos. But for once one of those games managed to get out of said development hell and be released as a full fledged game.

Sonic Time Twisted, created by Overbound Game Studio, has finally been released after being twelve years in development. The fan game features 28 acts across 8 zones, time travel, new special stages, and a soundtrack that’s headed up by Hinchy.

The full game can be downloaded on Overbound’s site, and the soundtrack can be found here. You can also find the game’s previous demo releases on our wiki.

  9. Very cool! Thanks for sharing, neat to see such a thing on the Genesis, I shall repeat here the comment I left on Youtube -

Impressive and fun demo, reminds me of my AMIGA computing days, I could literally play demo's hour after hour and often did! Always fun to see the latest offering from the demo scene programmers. It truly was amazing what they could coax out of the hardware even with the most minimal of specs. They truly could pull off amazing sound and graphical FX as they were talented coders who could use the full potential of the machine by bypassing the OS and accessing the chips directly, a trick that was described by the term "Banging the Metal" - Good times.

  10. An SD card slot would certainly be awesome but after buying the first my criteria is:

    1. Good lineup of titles

    2. Proper backwards compatible controller out of the box as was intended with the original, They have had enough time now.

unless those two conditions are met I will pass until they release one that meets those requirements, same goes for future Colecovision Flashbacks. Oh and also I need to be working again to have extra monies for such indulgences
