  2. We welcomed "Babytooth Retro" into the world this morning just before 6:00 am. Mom and baby girl are healthy and sleeping. I'm taking the time to improve my swaddle.  😅

I may not be as active in the coming weeks but will keep ClubVCS rolling.

Thanks @Justin !   Doing what I can to get the word out and make it fun! 👍

  4. A year or so ago I came up with the idea of a gaming battle jacket. (If you grew up in punk and metal, you know what this is.) I was struggling with a theme until Atari's new Recharged series.

Here are the first pieces coming together! Recharged buttons and a Missile Command Recharged back patch!

Now to sew on this ginormous patch!

      Atari.io OG rocker patches anyone?

    3. RickR

      RickR

I've got a project lined up to create some kind of wall-mounted frame for my Activision patches.  But I probably need to spend some time at a crafts store to find the right kind of frame.  If I do, having another one with all the atari.io pins in would also be really cool!

    4. Justin

      Justin

So you guys know, I plan on doing more runs of new Atari I/O pins in the future. I still have prints for the originals. The only reason we stopped was because I moved away from having access to a button press and inexpensive mailing through my old company. The idea was do to a different set every season and send them out to our most active members as a "thank you" for being at Atari I/O

  5. When did eBay sellers start adding "Launch Edition" to every loose console listing? Here's a white "launch edition" Wii. Look at that gray "launch edition" Jaguar. How about a yellowing "launch edition" SNES? Gimme a flippin' break.

It's because that is how eBay has renamed them in their database. It's eBay, not the sellers.

Yes! Just this past weekend I got a 2019 Husqvarna Svartpilen 401!

I'm new to riding and just got my M1 in August.  Taking my time with it in the early mornings before traffic and in lots after work. Hope to be using it as my main transportation in the next month or so.

We might do a BPM Boy challenge in the future. Not sure if you've grabbed that yet but it's definitely an awesome game!

And Mockduck's Atari Mania review is pretty spot on.

OK, I've purchased BPM Boy, Atari Mania, and Missile Command Recharged.

I actually love the color palette.  Much better in person. It's very cool in the context of the overall package - music, gameplay, effects. Everything just works. It is also feels fresh compared to the other titles.

    3. Justin

      Justin

I know this is available on other platforms but this is a game I would want to save for just the Atari VCS. I know they would do it right.

    4. Sabertooth

      Sabertooth

I hear the happiest control of the PS5 version is pretty cool. Otherwise, VCS is probably the way to play.

Once Atari turns on the back end for the global leaderboards it will be at parity with other platforms, with bonus content.

  11. You don't have to have a VCS to check out Antstream Arcade. I know I've mentioned it before but it's a ton of fun with a fantastic selection of games, tournaments and score challenges. I highly recommend it!

Up now, a Robotron 2084 single life challenge!

  13. This "might" be a thing I try to do.  Still working out the video capture bugs....and the whole talking while playing thing.  Does anyone else hate the sound of their voice and/or the way their face looks while they talk?  I may just do voice overs! LOL!!!

I've been trying to do something similar.  What r u using?

    3. Sabertooth

      Sabertooth

@kamakazi20012 I'm using AverMedia Live Gamer Portable 2Plus for streaming/game capture.  The retro consoles (modded) are going to the unit via HDMI through my RetroTink 2x upscaler.  AverMedia has a streaming/recording software called RECentral 4.0 that is similar to OBS Studio but is a bit easier to use.

The cool thing about the AVER unit is you can record game capture without a PC for reviews and such.  It records on a microSD so you can dump it later for editing.  For streaming, it does 4K pass through to your gaming monitor/TV.  It's also pretty plug-in-play, so as a total noob I got up and running in a less than half an hour.

      Good luck on your project!

After nearly 2.5 years of full time work and school I am done with my MPA program. I'm very excited to be getting some free time back. I have no idea what I'll do with it but there will definitely be some space for Atari!

  16. I'm wrapping up the end of the independent study portion of my graduate program. I can see the finishline but with the due date approaching I'm hitting a wall. More than 100 pages in and I'm running out of words. I also really want to play Iron Soldier 2...Maybe an hour of play time for every two hours of writing until I'm done? That seems responsible.

Having DLCs on physical disc doesn't help either. Wife and I bought the Borderlands Triple Pack which contained all DLC for all three games on discs. Took all night to install those so we had to wait a day to play a game. Yep...cart games have their advantages sometimes.
