  1. Atari is showing the love this Valentines Day with a free game code. Any game.

The code was distributed in the VCS Insider newsletter and is good through the end of February.

Make sure to login to your VCS and take advantage of the code. Let us know what you game you picked up in this thread!

Also, there are some fun tidbits in the newsletter,  so it's worth checking out.

:mac_pirate:  I've added the Atari VCS Friends Tab as a field included in the Atari I/O Member Profiles. Next time you go in to edit your profile, you can include your Atari VCS Friends name along with your Nintendo Friend Code, PlayStation ID, and Xbox Live ID. Have fun and make friends!

What a great idea! Thanks @Justin!

Awesome video, I subbed to see more games that can be played on the VCS's PC Mode.

Any thought of showing people how to get Windows on the VCS?  There are a lot of Atari games on Steam that aren't gonna make it in the VCS Store.

Thanks for the sub and comment! Yeah, I want to do more PC-Mode games. I already have a few recorded from devs like Adamvision and Sneakybox.

My rule is that the game has to run on a stock 8GB VCS. There are some games that work fine on a stock system and other games struggle - but work great with a modest 16GB upgrade. Most of that is due to Windows being such a resource hog, but I'm going to play around with AtlasOS and maybe ChimeraOS to see if performance improves.

RE: How to get Windows in your VCS, check out this great video by @Mockduck.  He does a better job than I would do and has a voice made for radio... well, public radio.🤣

BTW - I say that as an avid public radio listener and member/supporter

  4. For every great new game or acquisition that the Rosen Atari makes, there is still a G-Fuel deal or some other weird scheme. Enter the latest example: an Atari themed "celebrity" game show.

“Atari has remained a widely recognized and loved brand in pop culture for over 50 years, so it is no surprise that many celebrities have a strong connection to the brand,” said Wade Rosen, Chairman and CEO of Atari. “I look forward to seeing them share their personal stories and compete in a fun, game-show setting.”

I can't wait to see who they get to show up that will have a legitimate connection to the brand. Having Zoomers and even Millenials is a bit of a stretch. And what kinda games? A Centipede themed version of Plinko?

This one is a head scratcher.  And its not the first time Atari has dipped its toes in this space. They had an aborted game show in the Chesnais years.

Still Rosen seems like a very smart business dude. Does anyone think they will pull off more than a pilot?

Looking forward to the big update that's evidently coming to this!

The new update to NeoSprint is live. It has a zoomed in view for single player and implements the twist function of the Classic Controller for steering.

If you haven't looked at the game in a while, it's well worth revisiting. I didn't care for it at release. Now it's fun.
