so you people are saying that coleco chameleon they showed at the toy fair is a fake.

don't you think that the people at a major expo thats not open to public would have checked more into to this?

I'm not saying it is or is not. I'm still skeptical until I see it in person or proof of concept .

I'll prob pledge something like 10.00 to their kickstarter but not 135 for the system.

I think a lot more evidence supports that it is exactly what it is (a Snes mini running a flashcart) than there is proving it is actually the prototype Mike was promising. Mike has a history of dancing around the facts deleting negative comments while never actually providing anything solid. Have you not been following everything since the RetroVGS fiasco? Seems far more likely Mike felt pressured to come up with something to show at the ToyFair in order to have a good showing to help promote and secure funding towards the campaign, after all the hyping and and the pounding he had already taken from the previous attempt and failure he definitely could not fail to show something. What he displayed actually was very amateurish and not convincing at all. I think you give people behind the expo far too much credit in knowing the difference. What I CAN tell you is things may be falling apart for this project very soon concerning some parties involved  ;) but that is all I can say on that. Stay tuned though.

true, but I think the trade shows like ces and toy fair should check possible exhibitors for fakes.

as I said I'll support them but not buy the product. until I feel its right. I think mike and the rest of the rvgs team know about the videos people calling the system false. and its only time until they respond to them

But that is just it, they HAVE responded to them by deleting comments on the very subject. Every time the question is posed or they are given the opportunity even on their own Facebook page and other forums etc they either do not respond, ignore or simply delete, block or report anyone who questions anything on the subject and THAT is why I am done giving them the benefit of a doubt, their very actions tell me all I need to know.

And now for fun

They could avoid all this speculation by showing the board at the toy fair which is what I thought they were going to do.

Exactly this!

As a side note, if you want to secure rights and publish previously unreleased games, then do it and do it right. Creating a new system to play an unreleased SNES game seems like a ridiculous waste of effort and/or time. I can't help but imagine someone ripping it and dumping it unless the way their never-before-seen to the publics eye FPGA is created in a way that would make such a hack impossible.

All I keep seeing on Twitter is "hang in there" for the big reveal on Kick Starter. Maybe all of this is a deliberate hoax. A way to get everyone talking about it. Maybe they really do have hardware to unveil and knew that by shoving a SNES into a Jag casing would bring so much more attention to it otherwise not possible. Now all eyes are just waiting to see and people are keeping up and researching all over this SNES in a Jag shell madness. Could it be that's the idea or plan to drive attention or traffic to the site and project overall?

I was thinking this today, that it could all be a publicity stunt... but doing it this way is just going to create more ill will than good.12741981_1551236275205593_40642915779936

So they have the technical know-how to get an SNES core running flawlessly, but refuse to wire up simple things like a power LED or even 5 wires for a USB port (for the world's biggest toy show)? I could have done the soldering needed for those in less time than it took them to conceal the back in electrical tape. I wouldn't be surprised if they have several artists working on a convincing PCB render all this week.

Tomorrow is the big day to launch their Kickstarter campaign. I'm patiently waiting to see what's going to happen. You can't start a Kickstarter without real hardware.

They're still denying accusations about what happened at the Toy Fair, but notice they say "Our software was running the games" and don't say anything about hardware. Weird

Wonder if they decided to just cancel it all last minute. Dead silence. *crickets*
