Sorry to hear that @MaximumRD. I had a storage locker broken into, they took a RoadBlasters sit-down cockpit arcade cabinet, Atari Jaguar \retail kiosk w/ Tempest 2000, a complete sealed in box 5200 collection, my original Atari 7800 which is essentially my "Rosebud", plus much more. I won't do storage facilities anymore for anything meaningful to me, I don't care how what I have to do at home to make it work. Storage lockers can be okay for old clothes and items that can be replaced, but sentimental items and more expensive items will have to be stored in the house from now on and other things can be moved into storage. I won't make the mistake again.

Thanks appreciated, in my case though it was our own condo personal storage facility in our parking area, a locked closed off section for residents only that has been fine for the past 15 years. Still lesson learned, I removed what was left, my Atari 16 bit machines oddly, Atari 1040 stf & ste, maybe they ran out of time? Oh and to add insult to injury, they broke the locks off and used our own travel luggage to haul it away.

OK folks, thanks for the replies but let's get this thread back on topic for the OP from here on in. Thanks. 👍

I've got an extra colecovision console that needs a bit of repair.  I'll try to get that done before we visit Vancouver in April.  If I can, I'm happy to hand that off to you.

That is kind and appreciated but no thanks. I had only mentioned this to very few in messages or an odd comment here or there on Facebook because frankly, I don't want to be one of those types looking for sympathy or anything, I considered not mentioning here as well, maybe I should not have, though I am no longer collecting for a few reasons who knows? I may obtain one after some trades or sales of some things I have left that frankly do not mean as much to me or are collecting dust, years of collecting does tend to pile up. Er, honestly I kind of joked with my wife but I kind of meant it, had I known it would have been even a possibility our storage area was not safe I suspect I'd have been more selective about what I stored down there 🤔 I've always felt welcomed here and wanted to give an honest response about why I've not posted here earlier. It's not my intention to hijack this thread with my woes though so this is my last word about it here at least. Once again thanks anyway.

  3. Sorry, I've nothing to contribute. Some months ago our storage area was ransacked and with that a large portion of my collection including my two Ti994a's. I had the Silver / Black and all beige models, voice module a couple carts etc but that's history and why I never posted here. Honestly wasn't my biggest loss, I was much more upset about losing my only two Colecovision consoles as now I have all kinds of add-ons and accessories for Colecovision but nothing to use them with, also lost my NeoGeo CDZ, Atari 800 & 130, CD-i, 3DO, Modded Sega Saturn (one of few things I actually modded myself), a complete High Definition branded Sega Genesis and several accessories and add-ons and games for the things mentioned, other stuff to be sure but that is off the top of my head. It was very difficult dealing with and accepting losing virtually half my collection and yes it has hurt my enthusiasm for certain aspects of retro gaming and computing but I am trying to get over it and appreciate and make the most of what I have left. 🤷‍♂️

@MaximumRD I'm glad they still exist and are brewing. Was Tree Brewing Co. just a brewery or was it like a bar / pub / restaurant? It's cool to know they are still around in some form 😀

Hoping to see new adventures from you and Melissa out enjoying life again soon 🍻

From what I recall, besides the rebranding to "the Kelowna Beer Institute" here in Kelowna they were much like they still are today including Dinning, Menu selection and even merchandising.

The intro on the website - "Located in the heart of Kelowna's Cultural District at The Kelowna Beer Institute we brew in small batch and serve it in it unfiltered from tank-to-tap at it's freshest state. We have built the Kelowna Beer Institute to share our knowledge and passion for craft beer. We hope you enjoy spending time learning about and loving craft beer at the Kelowna Beer Institute as much as we love making it and serving it to you - Cheers."

    Website - https://kelownabeerinstitute.com/

So fair to say this is pretty much what we experienced on our visits the only difference being of course the selections being different and branded under the Tree Brewing label.

FYI here are current captures of the Dining Menu as well as the Craft Beer & Drinks

AND YES, I also hope Melissa and I can reach a point where we are comfortable enough to safely venture out for more leisurely outings, we do tend not to waste repeating things we've done in past (we've never vacationed in the same spot twice) as we like new experiences but I think Melissa has mentioned a few places she is considering across Canada should that time come, the Maritimes I believe has been mentioned once or twice, how cool would that be? Rest assured should this come to pass I will definitely make an effort to do some Beer tastings or at the very least some travel and exploring adventure videos. 😉

@MaximumRD It's been a while since your Captivator Doppelbock video from 2010, is Tree Brewing Company still around and do you still visit there at all?

It still exists though not out of Kelowna. I had to do some Googling, there has been a lot of changes since my video, here is what I found -

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Founded in Kelowna, BC, now brewing in our expanded facility in Vancouver’s Brewery Creek district.

The original Tree Brewing facility was closed in 2018, and a series of negotiations with Big Rock Brewery led to its beers brewing produced at the Big Rock facility in Vancouver, an arrangement that has continued since then. Tree Brewing Beer Institute Officially Rebrands as Kelowna Beer Institute -

A Kelowna brewery and taproom that was originally an off-shoot of Tree Brewing but which was subsequently spun-off has announced a name change that makes its independence clearer to the public. Kelowna Beer Institute was opened in 2014 as the Tree Brewing Beer Institute, and offered a more customer-friendly experience than Tree’s production brewery, with a small-batch brewery, restaurant, retail store, and education centre, all in a more convenient downtown location.

The Institute was purchased in 2016 by Tree’s general manager Chris Stirling and brewer Dave Gokiert, and changed its legal name to Kelowna Beer Institute at that time, but kept the Tree name and branding for its public-facing identity. An announcement about the name change was posted on social media late last week, and stated the following:

We feel that it is time to bring this name to the forefront as it better reflects who we are and what we brew. We are proud to be a Kelowna based brewery that brews on site and has a passion to educate people about the wonderful world of making craft beer. As of today you will notice a few changes around the Beer Institute as we get our new name up and out there but we promise the changes are only cosmetic, the beer is still the same great beer made by Dave and served unfiltered tank to tap, the food is still the same delicious beer inspired items you love, and our fantastic team of beer geeks and kitchen staff are still here to ensure you have a fantastic time when in the Kelowna Beer Institute.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As for your second question, well I didn't know any of the above as it's been sometime since visiting that or any local brewery, with us being introverts the current world state as it is means we've not ventured out for sometime for pleasure / entertainment and only do so for necessity of buying food / supplies/ appointments etc, sadly our going out for a few or even dinner is something we are not comfortable with at all in the current climate, regardless on others opinions (which we will not all the conversation to sway) we are pretty high risk being both diabetic and with other health concerns. Still, every so often we plan to either pick up some Beers during one of our runs or as was the case recently my dear wife surprises me with a fine selection from the local Beer and liquor store 😮😉 Who knows though, I can say if we do resume traveling and feel confident enough to do so it will remain within Canada but there are many fantastic locations to explore and likely we will sample the local Beers when doing so, I will be sure to film such occasions  😎

  6. HAHA! Yikes that video quality, ah well had to start somewhere I guess, my camera was garbage and I was at least 30 pounds heavier 😐good times though and a great Beer ! This surprised me, well not sure how often I can contribute though I STILL have one Beer left from the last haul my wife picked up, I been holding off but I am sure to make a new video with it at some point 😉I am certainly no Beer reviewer, been called out on that one, I do not know all the terms etc, BUT I KNOWS WHAT I LIKES and with that I figure I can give my unprofessional opinion at the very least, it's all in good fun right? I totally agree with everything you mention in your second post, the pioneering days of the Youtube communities and smaller channels sharing and shouting each each other, much more fun before GOOGLE took it over, thanks for the spotlight and nice idea for a club. 😎🍻🤘

  7. I had posted this comment elsewhere, it ended up much longer and more detailed in trying to convey the moment so I will paste and share it here as well as invite all to share their own personal jaw dropping "WOW" moment in console gaming whatever platform or time period that was  😎

It was in answer to basically what was my "WOW" moment in console gaming, I think even those that know me and my long history in it might be surprised but it is my most honest answer - Well, see I recall reading so many articles about Sega's new console coming, seeing pictures of the Dreamcast logo, the designs and rendering of the case, reading all the "specs", that was all fine and dandy.

Then one day arriving at my local mall I went to the second floor and as I walked off the top of the escalator facing the gaming store I began to approach, as I was getting close enough to make out what was displayed on 2 - 3 15 inch TV's hanging in the store front display I was thinking "Ugh, wtf? WHY are they playing a damn football game?" I figured it was early in the day, the store was pretty empty, I assumed the manager maybe put to on to "catch the game", I kind of rolled my eyes but then, as I got closer it dawned on me, no, no way, can this be?

Then running up the rest of the way, I confirmed what blew my mind, this was no broadcast game, this was my first time seeing something running in person on the new Dreamcast console by SEGA 😮 Yes, from a distance and admittedly maybe because I had zero interest in Football I assumed, if only for a few brief seconds that an actual football game was in progress when in fact it was NFL 2K, I think in demo mode, I only noticed the players movement, some cut scene of interaction on the field and of course the sounds of the crowd and commentary where being amplified outside the display. It did not matter that I could not care less about football or sports games in general, hell outside of possibly trying the game sometime later on a Dreamcast Demo disc I never even played it, yet for those few seconds I was fooled, I was more impressed than if they had been simply displaying Sonic adventure, in my mind, at that moment at least the Dreamcast realized everything I had heard or read up to that point and I was convinced that not only had Sega made a fantastic debut in the new generation but that it was surely the future of console gaming. And while we all know how things actually would turn out in the long run, that will always be for me my most WOW moment in gaming. 🤷‍♂️

  8. Having only ever and currently owned the INTV II I will say I agree 100% with RICKS rankings here, Love that they detach but in every other way seem inferior to the original console however once I spotted the Sears version and how different it was that became my dream to own version. I like also that my INTV II is so tiny but yeah definitely has is it's negatives, I got it in a bundle years ago with the voice module and several games so that was my entry into it. My only other want in this area was the 2600 add-on as it's about the only 2600 compatibly console or add-on I never got, always seemed so cool playing a competitors titles on different hardware, you don't really see that anymore outside of emulation options.

  9. Just to be clear, I do not have or intend to buy a Atari Jaguar, I considered it heavily over 5 years ago but never ended up doing it and my collecting days are done for financial and other reasons (OK NO MORE ROOM! 😆) I was just having fun and put the question out there for discussion. Of course, any suggestions can be useful to anyone considering. 😎

  10. A quick question for GOOGLE - "What are the best games for the Atari Jaguar?"
What do you think? Did you like ANYTHING better than the results given? Admittedly I've no "hands on" experience with the Jaguar console, it has only been through emulation and I kind of focused on games not found elsewhere so I thought Alien vs Predator or was cool.

    It's on Tubi as well:

I know we watched it on some other service last year....maybe AppleTV or Netflix?  I honestly can't remember.  But check whatever streaming service you have, you might find it.

Thanks, that did the trick, that is typically what I do, find an alternative source, I was just busy with other stuff but you saved me the trouble. 😎🍻

UPDATE: Great intro! Nice seeing them all as they truly are, currently ripping / downloading a nice copy from one of my alternative streaming sources, I think my wife will enjoy it as well so I will keep a local copy on HDD. 😉🤘

  12. Oh trust me I know all about VPN's, I bitch but honestly, I can "Find" anything I need to or truly want to watch :mac_pirate: it's not really a problem, I don't bother with VPN's. Thanks though. My bitching is more to the fact that Canada gets treated like China or some 3rd world country at times, it's due to this that I learned to "find" anything though, I just hate being made to do it 🤷‍♂️😉

  13. I address only the question of official and non official (IE : KNOCKOFF ) Krikzz Everdrives and my experiences.

You get what you pay for, better components and longevity. You support the developer and creator of Everdrive Flashcarts and instead of those like Aliexspress who just stole the tech and repacked it cheaply. Look, I am the cheapest mofo around and I never once considered ordering anything but genuine Krikzz brand from official suppliers. I have them for NES / Snes / Genesis / N64 / Tg-16. Not saying you cannot get similar for much cheaper and yes even in that 3 for 1 comparison that is fine, but again I rather support the fellow that created and supports them than buy from those that just created knockoff's from his product. Over the years I have seen several accounts of these knockoffs just bricking / dying months later. As well, people showing up in Krikzz support forums crying that their "Everdrive" just died or they bricked it trying to flash the latest firmware or some new software that adds new features does not seem compatible. ONLY TO EVENTUALLY FIND OUT that they had bought one of the knockoffs either knowingly or unknowingly (some admit it was knowingly but they thought it was just as good) and many of those are based on older revision of a specific Everdrive and so only work with the firmware/software originally supplied. So, just to sum up and be clear here, I've nothing against the various flash or multi game carts that can be cheaply had from various sources, if one goes in willingly buying these and knows what they are getting and are happy with the received item COOL, have fun, enjoy. IF WE ARE TALKING though specifically about purposely labeled "Everdrive" knockoffs and again you are happy with the item you receive and have no interest in updating firmware or the possibility of being left with support if it fails, again good, enjoy it as long as you know your only likely recourse if it fails is buying a replacement as support from the seller is unlikely. When it came to actual Everdrives though, I personally made the decision early on to by from official distributors selling genuine Krikzz devices, if you want the flashy presentation with manuals, boxes, nice labeled carts etc, you can buy from a supplier like StoneAge gamer, if you are looking for basic just the Everdrive in a cart casing you can find that and you can even find genuine Everdrives "bare board" where you supply the actually cartridge case etc. I advise just Googling along the lines of "Everdrive official Krikzz supplier" to find the best option regionally.

  14. Thank you JUSTIN and all involved in weeding out this pest. We don't want these type of nonsense and shenanigans here. This is a small but supportive and proud community. It always boggles my mind when someone cannot simply appreciate just sharing and having fun but instead resort to these type of nonsense for attention or what? Well you got it and congratulations now you are banned. Sacrificing your presence here because you foolishly assume you are smarter than the admins and other good standing members here 🙄 Well, it's never long too long before fools like intellicilecvisonary are shown the door.

  15. Traditional. perhaps not, though watching every holiday season since release has been my tradition and I feel something missing without it. For myself personally though it will always be a "Christmas" movie for me, beyond many of the arguments given either way, though it released months before in Canada the Christmas theme must of been strong even then as a friend and I went to watch a special screening of it on, you guessed it, Christmas Eve in a large downtown theater in Toronto Canada. It was packed and brightly lit and decorated for Christmas including a huge indoor tree all decked out so as we proceeded to watch the movie I felt very much the Christmas "spirit" as all of us came together in the joy of celebrating this awesome action standard setting film.
