  1. Atari.io -- making a small difference in the on-line world.
  2. The quality on these things is really pretty amazing. For the price, it's a sweet way for some themed gaming. I really like the arcade-game ones, but even the Spongebob and Scooby Doo type units are pretty fun.
  3. ARE YOU KIDDING ME???!!!??? NSG, you and I should go to Las Vegas and try our luck there on these football games. We've made it through week 12. Unbelievable.
  4. Well, my store is all set up: http://forums.atari.io/index.php/topic/2698-rickrs-good-junk-shop/ Please take a look and contact me if you need anything. And huge THANKS to atari.io for setting this up.

Congrats Rick! Your store looks great!

  5. I just got the game via a trade with Rowsdower...and your review is spot on. I love the spinning Gonzo head on the Space Invaders mini-game. But man, I find the Boomaray game to be very difficult. Can't even make it past the first level. Too frustrated to try more! AAARGH!
  6. I am interested in the Sears titles....can you tell me where you are are located so I have an idea of shipping costs? Thanks!
  7. Today's (day 2) deal is 75% off PC titles. Pretty sweet.
  8. Has anyone ever completed the 3rd mini-game of Atari "Pigs in Space"? The one that's Caverns of Mars-esque? Might make a good high score challenge

That would be a good question for RadioPoultry. He posted an excellent review of the game in the Blog: http://www.atari.io/atari-2600-pigs-in-space/

  9. I'm thankful for all the cool things I've learned, the good laughs with friends, new friends, the sharing, the giving. Mostly for the feeling of belonging with people who share the hobby. THANKS, you turkeys!
  10. Another new one for me. RGA International Video Controller RGA 1160 This one is just ok. The hand fits the handle very well, and I like that you can use either button. But the base is too small and too thick. It makes it hard to hold.
  11. Playing some TI 99/4A tonight. It has some great games, and I love the speech module.
  12. Don't get me wrong....I love reading your research. Very interesting indeed.
  13. I love voting on these! I went Empire Strikes Back. It's always been one of my favorite 2600 games. It really captures the spirit of the Hoth attack from the movie. Just really well done, and I'd love to see what you think. This is also the case where the 2600 version is better than any other version for other systems.
  14. I don't know if this is the proper place to mention my own feeling....but here goes. At the heydey of Amiga/ST computers, I was sadly not involved in either. I was in college at the time, and had just upgraded from an Atari 8-bit to a PC. It wasn't until I started collecting that I finally got an ST. And I will say it was impressive at first. But one thing I noticed almost immediately is that gaming was very similar to (but more limited in some ways -- control for example) to the Sega Genesis/SNES consoles. So as a collector, I kind of lost interest too quickly in the ST. Genesis gaming is easier has more choices. I guess the point of my post is kind of an exploration of why the ST just doesn't hold a huge interest to me personally. No nostalgia since I didn't own one at the time, and just so-so collecting, since there are other systems that have the same games. I've gone back and forth about selling the ST stuff I have, and I think that will happen very soon. The PC became the de-facto standard for computing, but that's a much bigger topic.
  15. That is actually one (of 3) SMS games that I own. I shall try it soon and see. I agree...sweet if true.
  16. From Mr. Rowsdower70. Thank you sir!
  17. C'mon guys....you aren't late! Birthdays last the whole week! Who's with me on this?
  18. That place looks awesome. I love the castle motif. Out here, we had a whole bunch of one-off mom and pop toy stores. We had KB Toys at the malls. And the big dog was Toys R Us. I was just explaining to my teenage son the other day that TRU used to have a cage where you picked up your game after purchasing it (using a paper ticket)...and how that job of working the cage seemed like the most awesome-super-duper-ohmygod job in the world to a 10 year old kid. The Toys R Us that I got a ton of my Atari games from back in the 80's is actually still here -- same building and location. Very close to where I live now. But the cage is long gone (except in my memory).
  19. Big Jim! Wow, haven't heard that name in years.
  20. YE GODS! We are both still alive! We're going to run out of teams to pick soon.
  21. I had the chance to play Warbirds with 3 players recently....totally awesome. It becomes a different game multi-player.
