  1. WINNER: kamakazi20012
    Centipede
    Atari 7800
    March 22, 2020

    ROUND 1: @kamakazi20012
    ROUND 2: @Justin
    ROUND 3: @kamakazi20012

Went at it for 3 rounds of Centipede with Kamakazi on the 7800. He won the 1st round, I won the 2nd, and he clenched it with the 3rd. Kamakazi won best of 3. This was actually a lot of fun! I know he felt the same. We'll be doing this again soon. Good game Kamakazi!

Back in the lounge shooting more episodes, we have all the time in the world.

GREAT to you're back in the Lounge and have new episodes in production! Commando and Ikari Warriors will be fun episodes. The 7800 really didn't have enough games like those to compete with the NES, and even when they did, they were hamstrung by Jack Tramiel cutting corners to save money, such as releasing games on the 512K 7800 cartridge board. That and the control pad could've been more than enough to go head-to-head with the NES.

In ITC#66 I go through the process of installing a UAV (Ultimate Atari Video) upgrade board into an Atari 5200. Yes, this was discussed and a video also made of this exact topic 33 videos ago. But I was never quite happy with the final results of that video and the fact that there seem to still be some confusion regarding the overall process of what is or isn't required to do this. So I took the opportunity to redo this with in a more detailed and hopefully more logical manner this time around.

These are TERRIFIC "How-To" instructional videos @CrossBow!! Always great stuff! I may have to try this 5200 mod myself.

There's a car dealer in Naples (2 hours from where I live) that still sells DeLoreans.  It's cool.  I went there to get my uncle some parts for his car a few years back.

    That's where I live 🙂

Thought this would be a good time to share a photo with you guys that I recently shared on our Instagram account. This is our very first refurbished CIB Atari 7800 ProSystem being shipped off to its new owner in September, 2000 back when this website was new (as Atari7800.com) and had a web store. We sold fully refurbished Atari systems with brand new accessories and a 1-Year Limited Warranty, along with other games and accessories. Look closely and you'll see that this 7800 is sitting on the hood of the DeLorean with the door up. A few hundred of our newly refurbished battery systems took a ride in the car to our local Pack-N-Ship back at that time. Wonderful memories of this site being new to me.

  6. True story: My first word was "Kroger". Some of my most vivid memories growing up were from going with my family to the grocery store. I'm not sure why that was. I think because going to the grocery store is such an everyday part of American life that transcends socioeconomic status. Young, old, rich, poor, city, country, we've all been to the grocery store at some point. It also transcends time. We tend to go grocery shopping with our parents when we're young, and so many "nostalgic" things came from the grocery store. Cereal, Ecto Cooler, magazines, 24-hour photo, etc.

What grocery stores did your family shop at growing up? Do you have any grocery store memories worth sharing?

When I was growing up, stopping at the grocery store seemed like an everyday thing. We went to:

    Michigan

    • KROGER
    • MEIJER
    • PERRY DRUGS

    South Carolina

    • PIGGLY WIGGLY
    • BI-LO
    • BRUNO'S
    • HARRIS-TEETER

    Florida

    • PUBLIX

  7. I made that Blockbuster Video graphic for our "Atari I/O Movie Club" posts back during 2015-2016. I loved the idea of us having a movie of the month club! I enjoyed it, but it became time consuming with only a few people participating and I had to drop it to focus on larger priorities. This thread reminded me a lot of the Atari I/O Movie Club, maybe it'll become its spiritual successor. I loved the Blockbuster graphic ☺️

Welcome to our 75th Squad Challenge! We're keeping it nice and relaxing as we get back into the swing of things for a new season of High Score Squad with Go Fish on Atari 2600! Go Fish! is a 2005 homebrew game from Bob & Tommy Montgomery loosely based on the Intellivision game Shark! Shark! From the description on AA: "you are a wee fish and to survive you must eat other, smaller fish to grow. But watch out for the shark, as he's also on the hunt for food and you could be his next meal! Go Fish! features extensive, continuously-playing music (with an option to turn it off for those who'd rather do their fishing in quiet), as well as a two-player battle mode."

NOTE: Upcoming Squad Challenges will be simple and straightforward until the site issues are completely resolved. We'll dive deeper with some fun Squad Challenges this summer. Thanks for playing, and enjoy!

At the bottom of the screen are the list of games.  Click on the game you want a manual for. Once that page loads look to the download options on the right.  I recommend PDF if you can find it.  I've never used a torrent app to get anything from the internet archives.  Go for the PDF option if/when you see it.  I hope that helps.

I found an easier method.  Click on the game you want instructions for from the list at the bottom.  Once the instructions have loaded click on the icon at the top-right that has a down arrow with the words PDF/ePub.  Click on this.  A small window will pop-up.  Select the file type you want (I recommend PDF).  VIOLA!

I'd like to commend @kamakazi20012 on his nice use of the open edit. Well done sir, hats off to ya :Nolan_Bushnell:
