This is the LAST Jag CD in my collection.  We’ve reviewed them all - well according to my collection.  This has been a good run and we have a handful of carts left to review. Stay tuned folks for more Jag Bar

I had this game when it came out. Pretty disappointing. It's one of those games that hurts the Jag's reputation. I remember playing it and thinking 1.) This isn't the Highlander movie or TV show that I know, this is like some European cartoon.. and 2.) Super Breakout on the 2600 is more fun and I'd rather play that instead.

Welcome to our 77th Squad Challenge! We're shaking off the Coronavirus and fighting cabin fever with a healthy prescription of Dr. Mario on NES! Dr. Mario was one of the big NES titles for 1990 and felt very at home with other puzzle games like Tetris. Can you help Mario destroy the viruses by throwing vitamin capsules into the contaminated bottle? We're still keeping things light and breezy as we deal with this Coronavirus situation and get back into the swing of things in the forums, so kick back, relax, and put on classic game of Dr. Mario. I hope you guys are ready for a new season of High Score Squad and good luck to everybody participating!

NOTE: Upcoming Squad Challenges will be simple and straightforward until the site issues are completely resolved. We'll dive deeper with some fun Squad Challenges this summer. Thanks for playing, and enjoy!

  3. :pole_position_blimp_big: Congratulations RadioPoultry!

Congratulations @RadioPoultry! You knocked it out of the park! Pac-Man Day challenges are always some of my favorite, and Ms. Pac-Man on Atari 7800 is hands down one of my favorite games for any system. It was great to get back in the swing of things and have so many participants join us in High Score Squad. We even had a few of the wives turn out! Having family and friends jump in and play along with us is something we should do more of in the future. @RadioPoultry takes the cake with an impressive 75,610 points! The Don @RickR posted a really impressive 72,120 to claim 2nd, and @greenween was right behind him with 71,350 to take 3rd. @kamakazi20012 @TrekMD @Justin @Gianna @btbfilms76 @Atari Creep Ms. BTB and Ms. Creep all joined in this one! Congrats to RadioPoultry for making it to the top, and to everyone who jumped in this squad challenge and shared a score! I'd like to encourage RadioPoultry to post his new high score on the Scoreboard, and let's make sure this Challenge continues on!

NOTE: Our next High Score Squad Challenge will be a *cough cough* Corona challenge. Be there!

  4. I wasn't aware of any of this until today. Seems highly sus to me. I heard something about Amazon Prime and Patreon, and I noticed the channel name had changed from Lord Karnage to Inecom, but I did not realize he had abandoned the whole Classic Game Room thing. That seems like a dumb thing to do.

I found a YouTube video explaining some of what happened. It's a critical video so keep that in mind, but it answers some questions.

I love your Disney magnets!!! I want to become a pass holder too ☺️

I’ve spent half my life living in Florida, and when the forums launched I lived right at the Disney World exit (the one with the Mickey electrical pole) and yet somehow you guys have me WAY outnumbered with Disney refrigerator magnets. I don’t think I have a single one. All I have in my kitchen are a couple of Disney wine corks I bought at Disney Springs.

  6. 🤔 What’s on your refrigerator? Mine is full of random things, a few of my favorite tidbits of ‘90s goodness reminiscent of the Seinfeld refrigerator. Some items include:

    • “Think about it” Seinfeld magazine clippings
    • Classic Bottle & Can Opener
    • PC Engine "Kunio Kun" Dodgeball HuCard-turned-magnet
    • Alfred Hitchcock
    • 1967 Clint Eastwood leaning against his Ferrari 275 GTB
    • William Frawley as "Bub" from My Three Sons
    • Jackie Stewart winning the 1973 Formula One Drivers' Championship
    • Skip Barber Racing School magnet
    • Classic Brian Wilson smoking in a diner
    • 1990 HA! TV Comedy Network Magnet (became Comedy Central the next year)
    • 3 Homemade TurboGrafx-16 Magnets: Gunhead, Victory Run & Bonk's Revenge
    • Porsche 911 Turbo magnet
    • DeLorean 140mph speedometer face
    • 1990 Nick-at-Nite My Three Sons magnet
    • Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Truck magnet
    • 1993 Comedy Central magnet

Everything had to go on the side of my fridge since the front isn’t magnetic, but it works out well for me.

What do you have on your refrigerator that reflects your personality?

This is cool!  No matter how short it is the love for what you were trying to do is present on every page...and it carried over to Atari I/O we all know today.  You know...the magazine COULD turn into a newsletter type thing for Atari I/O members 😉

    That's very true!

You can plan on it! That's an idea @RickR had that we'll hopefully be working on later this year. A nice little newsletter to keep people up to date.

Dude, this is so fantastic. The fact that it still exist is really cool. You put a ton of love into that thing and it shows. Love it.

Thanks @Atari Creep! I'm glad you enjoyed it! I thought it'd be cool to share with you guys who've been here a while and have gotten to know me. The Strategy Guide really is the beginning of "me writing stuff about Atari" and a starting point for Atari I/O. It's also something I made during that time where I thought I was the only person on earth with this interest. When people would ask me what my hobby was I'd tell them I liked "Classic Gaming" and I thought that was a term I had made up myself. It's cool to see what I was doing before I got plugged in with the rest of the world.

Very elaborate!  Isn't it cool how passionate we were as kids?  You did a great job, and such neat handwriting too 🙂

Haha thanks Rick! Teachers used to scold me constantly about how sloppy my handwriting was.

It looks like it is well thought out and took a lot of devotion to produce. Cool! Thanks, Justin, for sharing. 🙂

Thanks @BlackCatz40! I had fun working on it back then. My time probably would've been better put to learning how to program 6502 assembly code though.

Really amazing work Justin!  Why have you been holding out on this?  Ha ha...

Thank you @GRay Defender! I was holding out because I thought it would be a beast to scan and put together. Set it aside and forgot about it for a while. The Strategy Guide, and things like it, came up in convos this week and I went to scan a page to send to @btbfilms76 to use in one of his episodes. Then I thought "why not just scan the whole thing tonight" and about an hour later I had it all put together with a table of contents etc. Easy!

Ha ha... I would love to see a video of you talking about the guide, page by page and what it meant to you, then as well as now... Any how thanks for sharing with us here!

Great idea! I'll put that on my "To Do" List.

🤬Uh?!?  In the words of Q*Bert..."!#@$%"  How can you NOT like this game!  It's by far the best port of the queen of video games long before emulation came along.  And that's saying a LOT coming from me because I thought the 5200 version was great.  100% perfect?  No but it's pretty damn close.  How dare them.  Have they not seen the NES port of Ms. Pac-Man???  That game looks terrible.

Maybe if they tried it with a different controller?  I can understand not liking 7800 games because of the standard controller.  That thing would kill the joy out of everything it was used on.  My least favorite controller to use except with this game.  It works well with this game.  It's when I have to use those fire buttons is when I have issues.  It throws the controller off balance when you have to use those buttons.

Just because of the "lag" issue. I always LOVED Ms. Pac-Man on the 7800! It was with my first few games I got with the Atari 7800 when it first came out and have so many great memories of sitting on the floor in front of the TV playing this game with my family. Definitely caught a serious case of Pac-Man fever. I never noticed the control issue when I was younger, and didn't even think much about it until this Squad Challenge.

    Four system emulation guide...

This video is a great starting point for someone looking to get started with emulation but doesn't know how or where to begin. Feel free to double-post this as a new thread in the Emulation Forum if you'd like to create a new topic to help people get started. I know how important videos like this were for me when I got started, as someone who was always more inclined to play on real hardware and didn't know where to get started. It makes it much less daunting of a task. :nintendo_mario_1up:
