StormSurge Posted June 26, 2017 Report Posted June 26, 2017 No way am I going to get my hopes up for this. If I luck into one like I did with the NES Classic, great. If not, oh well. My days of driving from town to town checking at brick & mortar stores are done so my chances of landing one are reduced significantly. It looks great though, especially the UK version. Justin Posted June 26, 2017 Author Report Posted June 26, 2017 Have any of you played star fox 2 yet? I have Star Fox 2. The version I have is only about 80%-90% complete and it feels like it's missing a few things, but it's playable. It's not a bad game, but the unreleased version I have doesn't feel like a great game. Not yet anyway. There are some elements of it that remind me of Cybermorph. I'm hoping and would expect that Nintendo is releasing a finalized version of Star Fox 2 on the new SNES Classic Edition. LeeJ07, StormSurge, Atari 5200 Guy and 2 others 5 Quote

MaximumRD Posted June 26, 2017 Report Posted June 26, 2017 Many saw a Snes mini coming, they will pull same crap with limited availability feeding the scalpers market and make crying Nintendo fans. I will stick to the million other ways I have to play Snes roms,,,,,,,Personally I would only be interested in aN64 one because there are no N64 clones, oh not interested enough to get one or bother trying but I think it would be cool. LeeJ07 Posted June 26, 2017 Report Posted June 26, 2017 (edited) I have absolutely ZERO enthusiasm or excitement for this thing, not after how pissed off I was (and still am) regarding the NES Mini. There was a time I would have been completely ecstatic for this news, but not any more. Sorry, Nintendo. I still love you, but you will never be able to get that kind of anticipation from me again. LeeJ07 Posted June 26, 2017 Report Posted June 26, 2017 Your cynical laughter sums up my feelings exactly. I'm just extremely jaded about the whole thing, and I will NOT go out of my way to buy one. If I happen to see one at Wal*Mart, then maybe I'll buy. But I refuse to repeat last year. Atari Creep, Justin and StormSurge 3 Quote "I'd buy that for a dollar!" -Smash T.V.
jmjustin6 Posted June 26, 2017 Report Posted June 26, 2017 Am i able to pre order it? If so i might get one. There are soo many games i dont have for the snes that i have been wanting to play and alot are on this list. nosweargamer Posted June 26, 2017 Report Posted June 26, 2017 I try to give people the benefit of the doubt whenever I can. So, I'm hoping that Nintendo did not anticipate the demand of the NES Classic and will make more than enough this time around. If they don't... Can't help but feel that Nintendon't is going to pull the same old deal as they always do. Oh and I am so sort for my quick "meh" comment on your video brother. StormSurge Posted June 27, 2017 Report Posted June 27, 2017 Strong Language I'm with you. I'll keep my hopes up for the Retron 77 instead of this. Again, if I'm able to nab one, awesome. If not, I'll keep trying to track down any of the games I'm interested in & play them on the actual hardware for the first time, thanks to my awesome Secret Santa. Atari 5200 Guy Posted June 27, 2017 Report Posted June 27, 2017 I can't say that I am not excited about this news as I am. And I really hope that Nintendo will get their heads out of their butts and be prepared to meet the demands (not likely though...they can't even keep up with their Switch console). At the same time it doesn't feel as complete as the NES Classic Edition. At least with the NES Classic Edition there were a wide variety of games across lots of genres including Gradius, Mega Man 2, and many other titles that were very popular for their time...and still are. The SNES Classic Edition, while having some highly sought after titles, does not have any 2D scrolling shooters of any kind. Where's Gradius III, Earth Defense Force, Thunder Spirit, D-Force? There are a few titles missing that should be here. At least this time they are including both controllers. I will probably be one of the stupid ones sitting at a store waiting for this thing to be released. I did have fun last time as it was the only time I ever waited for a console to be released in store. I don't have a SNES in the collection, a console I have been trying to obtain. The more my wife and I talk about memories of the SNES the more the urge to find one becomes. But the console is ridiculously priced for a used system and the games we would want to play, those that the SNES Classic Edition has on it, are just as bad if not worse individually. So it makes sense to want to get one of these. She wants to get one as well. I can also understand others' feelings of what happened with the NES Classic Edition. That was total BS on Nintendo's part and they should have known just how much of a craze it would have caused. I still have a Wal-Mart employee who checked us out last time asking me if I am interested in selling it yet. Hehe...not on your life. So, yea, I'm interested. No I don't want a repeat of last time. That is just an accident waiting to happen. Another repeat like last time is going cause someone to go into rage mode and kill people just to get their hands on one. It's happened before...it can happen again. LeeJ07 1 Quote
LeeJ07 Posted June 27, 2017 Report Posted June 27, 2017 Oh, don't get me wrong... I could still kill for an NES Mini. I still want that damn thing. Nothing makes me want something more than NOT being able to get it. Ugh. But the SNES Mini? Uhh, NO. Not just no, but HELL NO. There is a small part of me that DOES want it, but my bitter, cynical side reminds me of my still festering resentment regarding the last one, and so the LAST THING I'm gonna do is get my hopes up again. jmjustin6 Posted June 27, 2017 Report Posted June 27, 2017 Well i just went to gamestop and they said they aren't doing pre orders Also went to walmart. I talked to a few people and they had no clue what i was talking about. One lady told me "Sir the NES classic sold out months ago" oh well StormSurge 1 Quote
Mcorleonep Posted June 27, 2017 Report Posted June 27, 2017 Probably the best thing to do without hunting for a pre-order is to go to a 24 hour Walmart at midnight on 9/28-29. That's how I got my Switch and those are still hard to find to this day... Quote

Karyyk Posted June 28, 2017 Report Posted June 28, 2017 No excitement, whatsoever... $20 bucks more for fewer games kind of kill if for me (if I was ever going to be able to find it anyways). $79 seems like too high a price-point for this kind of product. Kid A, Atari Creep and Justin 3 Quote
